Its probably good manners. Just think if that company had suddenly filled that role or it was no longer available, you'd expect them to call you to let you know.

If you are really interested in this job, by all means do call back and explain the situation. If you are going to be out of the country for a short time (a week or two) see if you can schedule an interview with them for after you return. If you are leaving the country for a long time or permanently, just call back and thank them for their time, tell them you are not available for an interview anymore. You never know if some day you'll end up working for this company after all, or for the person who reviewed your resume-life can be funny that way. At least you left a good impression.
Good luck!

You should absolutely call them back and let them know you appreciate their interest. Tell them you have had something come up, but if you are really interested in the position, tell them you would love to get in touch with them to see if there are openings when you return. You never know when that connection you make right now could either come back to serve you well or come back to bite you. If you apply for a job at the same company after having shown them courtesy, you will be viewed more favorably than had you simply left them hanging. You should be courteous and let them know you are withdrawing yourself so that they can pursue other candidates.

how you'll come across out is to grant them a decision. Their workplace will be close via the undeniable fact that's a holiday. Or the man has been very busy with a mission and forgot to call. Or they wanting to employ somebody else. rather of questioning about it, why do not you supply them a decision? in case you probably did not get the job then keep on searching. sturdy success!

Call them back and explain your situation. You may want to apply for another job with them in the future.

I hate being blown off. So when I personally don't want to deal with something I always say "you gripe when this happens"
Just call them back. Tell them when you return and if you aren't interested fess up.
