How can people be at peace with each other? Explain the words enmity and reconcile.

Formerly we were emenies of God, but now through jesus Christ he has reconciled us back to the Father.

Enmity means hate.
Reconcile means 2 opposing sides find a way to get along.
"Be at peace" means 2 opposing sides keep working at getting along.

Simple: subdue (note I'm NOT saying "get rid of") the ego and learn altruism, wisdom, and compassion. Those are the only explanations necessary.
