I think it can be respectable and prudish. However realize that it's her decision and the guy has a right to decide to stay and wait with you until marriage or move on with his life. I see alot of people saying they have the right to make the choice to wait, which of course is true, although realize the other person gets that choice as well, you don't chose for "the best of the relationship" because there wouldn't be a relationship if you did that.
And to the prude, I mean dude in front of me. Just because you have had pre-marital sex does NOT make you a skank, an idiot's common mis-conception. After all they could have done it once, done it with one person, etc. Your generalities do nothing but debunk your own argument.

It's really going to depend on the guy. If the guy wants nothing from a girl but sex, he's not going to be happy. If it's a guy who respects you and actually wants to get to know you and be with you, then he'll try just as hard as you to wait till marriage. Anyone who pushes you to have sex is weak. If someone truely loves you they'll try to help you make that goal not fail it.

Very noble. No, it's not overly prudent, just very difficult in this day and age. Try to hang with others who share your beliefs.

Its a matter of choice and I respect that. I also respect the women who chose not to wait for marriage.

This is for the rest of your life. So, make sure everything is right in your relationship before making it permanent. I'm 52, been married 17 years and am still on my first wife. This advice is based on true life experience and had a three year 'trial period' before marriage, including living together.
Forget the old ways. Test drive before you buy, but no tire kickers please.

Decent guys will respect a girls beliefs. Guys who just want to have sex and have no respect will find a girl to do him. It really doesn't matter what "guys" think- what's important is a person sticking to their beliefs, no matter what.

I think it's respectable and the very best of morality. I wouldn't marry a woman who was otherwise. Lots of men like the whole skank thing. Guys with morals, however, do not. Be glad you're worth something. Those other women, well...
