Since the 1970's, there has been a tremendous growth in misinformation regarding the 'environment'. One of the most incorrect theories is that global warming's primary cause is mankind. Flights of fancy are passed off as 'documentaries' by has-been politicos trying to feed their gigantic egos; while hypocritically turning a blind eye to their own huge 'carbon-footprint'. Ice Ages have come and gone throughout the history of the earth; so instead of more, incorrect theories; where is the actual hard scientific evidence to help refute the lies?

Amazon.com has a few listed that are really good books, and they try to educate you about the other end of global warming. Such as how most of the greenhouse gases put into the atmosphere aren't even made by humans.

Those 2 are my choice.

Hope that helps. Also, glad to see someone not automatically jump on the global warming band wagon when there is alot of misinformation.

Winners of the Nobel Prize for science (lots of them) believe global warming is very real. So does John McCain - a conservative. This is a SCIENCE issue and is NO MYTH. You make the claim that "one of the most incorrect theories is that global warming's primary cause is mankind", but provide absolutely ZERO evidence to back up your statement.

When dealing with something as complex and huge as the atmosphere of the Earth the climate science may not be understood by the general public. Some people may be exaggerating the effects of global warming, but the evidence is visible all over the world. Besides, the smart thing to do is act like it is a problem instead of ignoring it until it may become an unsolveable problem. It might not be death for us in our time, but it could mean death for your grandkids - or starvation, or increased rates of skin cancer - better safe than sorry.

The best book bar none on Global Warming's facts vs. fiction is Chris Horner's A Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming.

There is more to it than global warming. The Earth is in crisis and it is not only global warming that is causing it. Research the health of the ocean, and the pollution of water and waterways and factory farming just to name a few. Global warming is this most widely known but it is not necessarily the most important. It does not take long to find that humans are hurting the Earth and ecosystems around the world. I don't understand why it is so hard to understand that everything on Earth is connected and when one part of it is in trouble, it throws everything else out of equilibrium. It seems fairly commonsense to me. If nothing else, care about lions and tigers and gorillas and chimps and rhinos and elephants and polar bears, etc. because everyone of those animals is in jeopardy of becoming extinct and it does not have to do with global warming. It's about loss of habitat which is exactly what will happen to us if we don't pay attention now.

it is a fact that ice ages have occured in our planets past, so have mass extinctions of the dominent species of that time. humans have never witnessed an ice age and humans are the current dominant species. if history gives us an accurate model then when the next ice age occurs the current dominant specie will perish. concern of that is the driving force of what you call the "scheme", no one will profit from our demise so monetary motivation is a non-issue here.

But most of humanity will be dead before we begin to cook or freeze in that scenario anyway. we will have run out of oil and the oil age will be over, the necessities we rely on to survive which are all petrochemically based will be gone ( medicines, medical supplies, plastics, clothing, paints, glues, vinyls, etc.) and we will be living in the iron and stone age once again. when looking at the world's oil supply we are on the down hill side of what is left and the worlds consumption is increasing exponentially each year. in all of the previous ages of human technical developement, no age was ever extinguished prior to moving into the next, for example, we didn't run out of stone when we moved into the bronze age, or again into the iron age. lack of resources didnt force us into betterment, yet when we leave the oil age it will be because we have depleted the oil resource. there is no new age on the horizon to move into from the oil age, we have waited too late for advancement out of the oil age so we can only fall back, degress into a previous age instead of progressing into a new one.

getting toasty or frozen due to global warming should be the least of our immediate worries.

You're looking for "Trashing the Planet" and "Environmental Overkill," both co-authored by Dixy Lee Ray (former governor of Washington) and Lou Guzzo. They are out of print, but you can find used copies on Amazon.

The Weather Makers by Tim Flannery is a great book, Oh wait it's science so you probably wouldn't be interested. Maybe check the fiction or religion section.
