It probably won't do you any good. The same issues that are preventing you from joining the Navy will also prevent you from joining the Army.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Here's my $.02 Just switching branches is no small matter. The Navy has the best conditions and won't screw you. We do what our job is where the USMC and Army treat you as a grunt. Before switching branches, talk to your recruiter. Explain the situation. If you're already willing to switch to the Army, you should consider changing ratings. Your ship date is calculated like so. Let's say you're going MA. The processor at MEPS checks for available class start dates for that A school. You leave for boot 8 weeks before that. So, look into changing ratings and maybe shack up with a friend. Or, I don't know, try to patch things up with your mom. Good luck!

AGAIN, with the same question. The answer is still the same. The Army and Navy use the same process for background investigations and the Army may talk to you, but you need to disclose all your criminal history to them to. Your background investigation will be the same one used by the Navy. The governement is NOT going to pay twice to check out the same person. You will still need to clean up all your criminal history before you will be able to successfully enlist in any branch of the military. The time you spend on Yahoo answers asking the same questions over and over again you probably could have had all this stuff squared away. Enjoy the mall job until you listen to us and get your stuff straight. Don't steal anything else either or drink and drive. You have to much baggage as it is. Someday you may be able to enlist, but not until you face your past and clean it up.

Antonio, I can't believe you're still trying to get an answer from the navy about your waiver. I'll be honest with you, at this point I'd very politely tell the recruiter that you need an answer or you'll request a release from DEP. If you're totally honest with the Army recruiter about your past problems, right from the start, I'm sure you can enlist.

Now is the time to start talking to the Army recruiter.

It might depending on the reasons. However, the Army will determine if and when they want you. They are spread thin now so things are in your favor.

I don't think it will unless you were a Dishonorable Discharged, other than that you can go to any branch I believe.
