Any check cashing service should do it, where they have the big checks cashed here signs. I know walmart cashes payroll checks but I am unsure if they cash personal ones. I think you need to switch your money to a different bank, because the amount of money in your account should have no bearing on cashing a check imo.

Some grocery stores will cash checks. As will some convenience stores (not many). There are also check cashing agencies in most cities, but they do charge a fee.

There are "check-cashing" businesses that don't require you to have a bank account, however, they charge you a percentage of your remittance for the service and to hedge against risk of bouncing.
