What's up with the avatar changing?? It's hard to find you if I don't know what you look like! Can I be an agent of the devil without believing in him?? I suppose I could.. I could be a pawn in a CIA plot to kill the president without knowing the CIA exists...

As a Pagan I do not believe in the devil. I also do agree with the lady that posted that you do not have to believe in evil to do evil...

I think that religion does not have anything to do, often times, with the ACTIONS or ETHICS of a person...

So that evil is something can be done by an atheist or a Wiccan, or a CHRISTIAN! And are done by them I would guess.

However, I don't think that a Wiccan is doing anything because of the devil, but then I don't be live other do either. I think there is a point of laying blame, and being to WEAK to be accountable for your actions... which since Wiccan's don't lay blame at the feet of a so called devil they have to accept that if they do bad, it is because they CHOOSE to do so.

As for the fellow that stated:

"The bible is very clear about practicing witchcraft,of any kind.study the word of God. "

YOU do realize the in the ORIGINAL language the bible was translated from that the term WITCH did not even exist!

Education is the key to understanding and becoming tolerant.

A very good question!

It truly amazes me how little some Christians know about their OWN faith, and elect to use their faith, and lack of knowledge of it to discriminate against others. It gives the few good Christians a bad name, and makes it harder for them to be taken seriously. Paganism was respected by the early Christians, and Jesus is even rumored to have taken his education at a Druid academy. FIRST; We were respected till the early Christian kings realized the pagans had all the land, and set out on a massive campaign to eliminate them. That’s why if you look back at the legislation back then, if you were accused of witchcraft, and did not confess, but were later convicted (which 99.9999% of the time they were) your family did not inherit the land, it went to the government instead. But if you confessed, you were still put to death, but your family got the land, and the witch fever spread faster. SECOND; There was no mention of Satan in any form in the bible before the British kings got a hold of it. It was a mistranslation from the Greek ha-satan which simply meant “opposition” after a few such re-renditions of the bible, “the enemy” became an individual “Satan” who is depicted as a bastardization of the Celtic god Herne. There was a time in the first millennium when it was standard procedure to “re-translate” the bible with each new rulership of England to support the current administration, and policy. The most famous changes took place in the NKJ version where “Suffer not a prisoner to die” became “Suffer not a witch to live”. The list goes on, and on.

well, let's put it this way....there are people out there who believe everything is a dream. Nothing is real. They walk down a street but they're really just walking on air. So since they don't believe that the street actually exists, does it mean that they aren't walking on a street and we are all in a dream world and that we don't exist?

The devil is associated with the Christian faith and the Christian faith says if you are not with God, you are against Him.

So if you're speaking about the devil, then according to the Bible, yes Wiccans are an "agent' of the devil.

With a true Wiccan, the idea of the devil does not exist- so, no. They believe in natural energies in positive and negative forces and the balance of this. Though there are many variations of Pagan religions besides Wicca that may many different views, just as with any other religion.

It's not just the Wiccans, but any one that is not of Christ can be an agent of the devil. There are men and women this day that have turned there backs on Christ and the teaching of the bible and they will indeed suffer in outter darkness, "many will come to me saying Lord, have we not prayed and cast out demons in your name, and I shall say Go away from me I never knew you".

As for Wiccans, I have studied the Satanic religion, and I have also studied the wiccan faith, regardless of what they tell you they are infact of the Devil. I say this because there are to many simular rituals in both black and white magic, that are the same and use the same ideology.

Furthermore you can't believe in God and not believe in the devil. You can't pronounce a curce on this earth unless you are using a power forien to God.

There is not enough room to contain my thoughts on this issue, but I can assure you Wiccan is another look at the same thing that Paul warns us of in Ephesians 6: 10 - 12. It is a faith in that which is other than God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It has no place in the goodness of the Gospel of Christ, and new Christians showld be careful to not be taken in by arguments to the contrary.

I suppose that depends on whether the devil exists. The "Christian" believes that he does, and that members of all competing religions are complicit in his plan to usurp authority from God; so he's likely to view the Wiccan, whose beliefs he doesn't understand, as an agent of the devil. The Wiccan, meanwhile, (probably) doesn't believe in Christian demonology, whether or not he understands it, and is therefore unlikely to conceive of himself in the same capacity.

Who's deluded? Well, draw your own conclusions. But a not-too-awful analogy, from the Wiccan's POV anyway, is that of a group of kids playing "Tag." If one of the kids decides not to play anymore, or decides to play a different game, it really doesn't matter to him whether the others decide he's "IT."

Wiccans are not agents of the devil. As a Christian (and as a rational human being), I merely see them as people who happen to hold a different belief system than my own. This "agent of the devil" business sounds alarmingly medieval to me. Any Evangelical types who are tactless enough to call a Wiccan "demonic" to their face while attempting to "witness" to them shouldn't expect too much in the way of positive results.

NO! I am a wiccan and we believe that our spells are ment to HELP people. And that girl that brought out all the bible is stupid. Duh! Why do you think we don't correspond with the bible? We use our "magic" for the good of all people. We don't cause any harm to ANYONE for fear of upsetting the Goddess. If people were more understanding they would understand we aren't trying to gain and not give.

It never ceases to amaze me how the majority of people out there simply do not understand the nature of reality.

What you put your focus on is real. Consequently...

If you honestly do not believe in the existence of an entity known as Satan, then Satan is not real, nor does he exist for you. You cannot under these circumstances be an agent for Satan if Satan is not real to you.
