That is a fantastic point...never thought of it, but I think anyone who has a pet knows without a shadow of a doubt that their pet has a soul... But the connection you made...might have to use that point in the future!

I'm not sure that a human soul is the same as my dog's as we humans were created in God's likeness.
I refuse to think that anything God makes has no soul.
Jeez... If half the people in this world had the soul and personality of my dog, the world would be a much better place.

I dont see why an animal or even an insect for that matter wouldnt have a soul.
The belief of reincarnation is if you were good in your previous life, you would come back as a rich person or a bird or some other cool animal, but if you were bad, you would come back a scorpion or a worm, something like that.
So if reincarnation is indeed true, then yes, they do have souls

Your soul is part of your conscious mind, your thoughts, emotions, etc...animals have not evolved that far. Still, I think animals (dogs and cats) can sense a lot about what is going on and are very pure in their attachments to their owners.

But that is a religion vs Science thing. The true Science believers dont take much stock in souls and the Religious people dont take much stock in Evolution. So in that way it cancels out. But I like your argument! :)
