I notice that you address your question to "Atheist." Which particular atheist is it that you'd like to answer your question?

Why would you expect an Atheist to not respond by saying "al-qaeda was responsible for sending suicide hijackers onto planes after having them train in America..and then they hijacked planes and sent them into the buildings"? Just because I'm an Atheist doesn't mean I'd answer differently from anyone else...what happened there is what it is no matter what religion one ascribes to.

I don't see how this is an area we atheists have any particular expertise in. How does my lack of belief in a god give me any special knowledge about why some devout fanatic Muslims hijacked airplanes and crashed them into some skyscrapers?
It just reinforces the concept that religious belief....ALL religious belief, has the potential to be dangerous.

Each one of them was hit by a commercial airplane and then crumbled to destruction. It was very tragic. Too bad there was no god able or willing to reach down from heaven and stop the planes.

If you mean the World Trade Center, two huge jumbo jetliners smashed into them, toppling them to the ground.
If you mean Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets, Sampson just never cut it in the pros, and his career eventually fizzled out.

Do we have some kind of secret knowledge?
I watched them, they fall down.
I am fairly sure my not having an imaginary friend had nothing to do with it.

Why ask atheists - why not ask the police or the CIA or the FBI?
However I gather it was a bunch of religious extremists who want to force their beliefs on the rest of us.
