I loved my Roman Italian Catholic grandmother very very much. She took my mother's place after my parents divorce. She did NOT push her beliefs onto me and she also loved pets and believed they would be in heaven. I had a dream of her in her house dress with a yellow glow all around her. I found that to be comforting. Does this make me a hypocrite?

I forgot to say, my mother's sister told me at the age of 12 that I was going to hell and that I was a horrible human being and then slapped me.

Ok from your previous questions I understand you do not like Christianity or Catholicism at least some aspects of it. Now you wonder if you are a hypocrite for feeling comfort from dreaming about your grandmother who was catholic. I do not think that makes you a hypocrite at all. I am sure your bond and your love for your grandmother goes far beyond any religious association. There is so much more to a person than what they believe, this is what I think at least. I also disagree with many aspects of Christianity and the Bible but I still love many Christian friends and family. We have found that we have to look past the differences. Religion is not the ultimate factor of all things.

I think that all it means is that you love your family despite the fact some of them believe in fairy tales. If you're a hypocrite because of it, then I am also a hypocrite for loving my family. Just because someone doesn't see things the way you do doesn't mean you should stop loving them and wish hell upon them. God could learn a lesson from people like you and me.

Having a dream doesn't make you a hypocrit. However, you posted nothing that could be construed as hypocritical. What are your beliefs, did you say something that went against those beliefs?

You had a dream about someone you loved being okay and possibly trying to let you know she was okay. And it comforted you. What's hypocritical about that?

Maybe she was trying to tell you that everything is okay and religion doesn't matter that much.

Your grandmother was a symbol for everything that meant LOVE to you. I dont think you are a hypocrite, if that means anything to you. Just continue loving people, no matter what they think of you. They'll get it someday....God Bless

I don't think your a hypocrite.

I was told I was going to hell too by my own mother. She slapped me in the face more than once. The things people say and do to kids makes me very angry.

Why would having a nice dream about your grandma make you a hypocrite? Do you hate your grandma or something?
