Yes. By the soul bringing this form of human physical body to living, breathing, feeling life the soul is then enhanced by the experience of soul living a human experience. The soul " feels ", is pure, gentle, wise, knowing . . . Through experience of human being is felt . . . hurt, pain, joy, making love, wonder, tears, emotions of anger, happiness, sadness, love, doubt, laughter, etc. Through these human experiences the soul Knows.
The Soul that is having a human experience is not (God) the One...yet is OF (God) the One. The one has always existed. So, in answer to your question. . . the soul does and always has been in pre-existence before the body came to be. The soul IS and has always been ~ as the soul is Of and is the One.

Genesis says that God breathed into the body of man and he became a living soul.
The soul of man is simply a living person. It does not exist apart from the body before birth or after death.
Ezekiel 18:4 “ Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.

Genesis chapter 2 describes the creation of man. God first formed him from the dust than he breathed in his spirit and the two became a living soul this is the image of God.
The Soul sdoes not pre-exist but is also created with the man. first body then spirit and the two become a living soul...The bbile teaches that the first will be last and tha last will be first and the flesh should serve the spirit.

Check Genesis 2:7 for the answer to your question.
Be prepared for a shocking surprise! What is the "soul"? If you use a version other than the KJV or NKJV, then where is the "soul" mentioned in this verse?
I chose this verse because it is by far the most credible verse since it talks about our creation. It would only make sense that if there was a "soul" as most people understand, then it should be included in our original creation.
GOD bless

There is only One Existence; the source of the illusion of multiplicity. What makes the idea of multiple souls any less illusory than multiple bodies? If Oneness is Truth, souls are illusion.

In Judaic tradition, yes. There is a thing called the Guff and it's where all souls come from. It has a finite number of souls in it, so when the Guff is empty - time will end.

Body(matter) is the expression/manifestation of the soul. And both exist simultaneously in the universe.
So you can assume that both are one and the same.
But this is not saying materialism.

I believe it does, For i believe when you have passed from a previous existance you rest in the spirit world, and then, when the time comes, you plan what lessons you still need to learn and you choose the best parents that you think will help you to achieve these goals.

I believe that consciousness always exists and develops through many incarnations but soul to me suggests an ego and individual personality that survives and I don't believe in that.
