They all pay about the same. This much I do know; the Army pays out around just $200 a month for two days out the month. As with any branches of the military your pay increases as your ranks go up. You should pick which one you like more. If your still not sure; then go talk to someone in person who is serving in each of those branches to find out what their opinion is.

I am not sure about how much of a sign up bonus you will recieve, but I would say active duty Navy would offer a bonus over the Air National Guard. As far as normal pay, you will get more money on Active duty than you would if you were to Go guard. The only way you would make the same amount, is if you were active guard, which basically means you were on active duty, but you are in a guard unit. It might sound confusing, but it doens't matter what branch of the military you join, you get the same amount of basic pay in each service. Depending on your job, you could get bonuses in either service.
Now, about you having to move to a different state, you don't have to move to a different state. You could be in a guard unit in your state or even a different state without moving. The only thing is, if you live in California and your guard unit is in Florida, you will have to go to Florida at your cost for your drill weekends and training time. The reason people do this, is for a position. Your rank is based on how many of one rank is needed. People will change units to get promoted, because a slot is available. Its kinda hard to explain in words on here, but you can find out a lot of information on www.military.com. They can probably tell you more about what you are asking in better terms.

RE: Should I join the national guard or air force? Which is better? I am a recent college graduate, and not having much luck finding a job. I figured joining the national guard or air force could be a good experience, plus I want to go to graduate school, so I figured that could be paid for. I have been considering this for a few months, however, I need more...

If you join the Air Guard you could possibly get stationed to a unit closest to your home town. Everything depends on open positions or slots as they call them. But as you progress in rank there's a good possibility that you will have to get assigned to a unit that has a slot for you. In the national guard, Air Guard or whatever, everything depends on available job slots for the mos you hold. Some people get cross trained so they hold more than one job title or mos, This gives them a greater chance of finding a job slot where they wish to serve. A word of warning. With the war in Iraq and Afghanistan being a hot spot. You'd better accept the fact that you will be there before you know it. Helicopter crews including pilots if that's what you're aiming at are always in demand. Guess why?

All branchs of the military pay the same.
National Guard units are state units.
IE:
You join the National guard unit in the state you live in.
Your not stationed anywhere.
National guard is 2 days a month and two weeks a year.
You will have to drive to the nearest national guard unit to you.
That is, if they have any openings.
Unlike the regular military, national guard units, don't always have jobs open.

National Guard will give you more money for school through the tuition reimbursment and yes you would have to stay where you are. Signing bonuses all depend on the MOS just talk to both recruiters and see what they can offer you and decide.
