Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
It means exactly what it says. In this verse, Jesus is speaking
of prophetic events that still have yet to happen when the last judgement comes.

Hi,
Matthew 24:29 tells of the true Christ gathering back to us.
Unlike back in verse 21, where it is not our true Christ, but Antichrist who will come.
Many people do not realize that there will be two tribulations: one of Antichrist, who will come FIRST, disguised and pretending to be Christ; this is the great deception of the end times. God is allowing it in order to separate the wheat from the chaff. Those who are studied in the Word of God, who are His true Church, will not be deceived by this false "jesus", simply because it is written that he will come in before the true Christ comes.
Those who follow the rapture doctrine, for example, will think this first "jesus" who comes on the scene is Christ who has come to rapture them to safety.
Strange, those books called "Left behind" -
if when folks read of the two grinding at the mill and the two workers in the field; one is taken, the other left - if they would back up to capture the subject and object of whats written, they would find the subject to be that the Antichrist comes first before the true Christ. WE WANT TO BE THE ONES LEFT BEHIND. The ones taken are taken by Antichrist.
Anyway, after the two witnesses are killed in Jerusalem, you can set your watch, because exactly 3 1/2 days after that event, the true Christ appears, and thats what verse 24:29 refers to.
Rev 3:20 is pretty much self explanatory;
Those who wish to know the true Christ is
able to; but i have to warn that a person had better have a working knowledge of the Plan of God, as written, or else they will be deceived, and end up bedding down with the wrong spiritual husband; when the true christ returns, he will say "get away from me, I never knew you".

After the great tribulation, after the saints have been lifted up from the Earth to partake of the marriage supper of the Lamb, the Earth will be under the influence of the antichrist and after those seven years of tribulation, even the atmosphere and the 1st heavens about the Earth will have to be changed.., (the "elect" mentioned in the following verses are His Jews, I have been told). To clarify this, read 2nd Peter 3: 7 - 13.
Revelation 3:20 is a statement of any one who wants to accept Jesus as Lord over his/her life, know that He doesn't violate your free will and the door to your heart/spirit is on the inside. He will never open and come in un-invited. If you sense Him calling to you, and HE is always seeking you and wooing you and longing for you to return to Him and the Father God, so you won't wind up with the devil in the end, YOU have to answer; you have to open the door by saying, "Come into my heart and live here and I accept your Lordship in my life". (If you don't choose Jesus and invite Him in, you get the devil as lord by default because of Adam's sin thus dooming all seed after him. (Every seed produces after it's own kind... Adam was a traitor by his disobedience to God's command to him.)
Then go ahead and read Rev. 3: 21-22. What the Lord said here to the "churches in Asia", He is saying to me and you!

M24:29 sounds like a big asteroid hitting the Earth or a nuclear holocaust. R3:20 sounds like if you are prepared to accept God then He will accept you. Nothing to do with JW's ringing doorbells on a Sunday morning.

This is the time of the appearing of Christ- it is speaking of the coming of the age...that this will happen just before Christ appears.
Revelation 3:20 is about salvation-- those who hear the Lord, when hearing the gospel, who receive it, they will be with the Lord forever, and join Him in the wedding feast!

this is just a guess, but it looks like they are full of false reverence. Kinda like a widow who builds monuments to her husband and keeps flowers on his grave, and candles burning in his honor while spending his money with glee and running around with men. Just an opinion...

This means you have to evolve, understand the meaning and not be with the bigotry of reading verse by verse which is so stupid in any religion, including mine.

Anyone else find it ironic that a guy who's named himself after an ancient philosipher is asking religious questions?
Or is that the whole point?
