Most organized religion is based on the Bible. At least the Christian religions. Or they are based on historical stories, myths, or accounts of ancient times. Either way, they are just that. Including the Bible. It's a historical account, based on facts, as people saw it, at the time. Their perception of what they think happened. And then it was recorded and over time compiled. Nothing more or less.
This is not to say that there isn't merit in it, and it's a good place to start. But, the true path to God and Jesus is through your heart. It's not in a specific building, or following a pre set line of rules, it's by our heart. If you feel him in your heart, he is there. Period.
You do not have to be apart of any specific group i.e. religion or other wise to be heard, loved and saved by God. He loves us unconditionally. He hears us unconditionally.
I would say that you should explore all your options, don't join officially until you are sure it fits you.
I am not saying that organized religion is a bad thing. Alot of people need religion as they are unable to get what they need on their own. Some people have a hard time connecting with God without someone else telling them how.
I don't mean that rudely, it's just the way it is.
When I realized that I was closer to God without it, I became I guess what you'd call a spiritualist. I don't agree with organized religion for me. It made no sense. There was so much hipocracy for me. So many deceptive tactics. Lieing. Male domination, belittlement of women, Racism etc.
So I don't need it. But, whatever you do, make sure you really understand what you are getting into before you join.
It's easy to get in, not so easy to get out.
Explore and remember one thing, if you experience something, or are told something that doesn't make sense to you, make sure you pray about it, and if it doesn't feel right, then it's not. God will speak to you in your heart, if you let him and if you listen. He will tell you in your heart if it's true.
And don't base it on what other people tell you is true. Truth is different for everyone. And the path is not the same for everyone. So listen to your heart, God is always there speaking to you. You just have to listen. Close out the world an listen. He will be there for you..........

It is not actually a change of religion what someone needs. It is a way of life you should care to look into. Look within yourself, try to find your own peace of mind. Learn to accept the things that happen around for a reason. Know what reason is there that you are where you are, you are what you are and what you want yourself to become. A change may have to start with you. Be the light to others that need guidance but look also for lights that may guide you to the brightest path.
Changing to another religion may not be the best thing for you but showing your religion what you think is not right may even cause your religion to change along the way you think is the right path. Who knows, it can be both ways for you and your present religion.

It all depends on how you view religion. Is religion just your belief in God/gods? Or is it belief in a book, a savior/prophet, and a way of life?
I would recommend researching fully into any religion you are interested in. I don't know what you were previously, but try to decide why you didn't like that faith. Was it because of their view on a certain topic? Once you've identified that, it should help you search for a faith you can associate yourself with. One thing I would like to add is that you shouldn't judge the religion by the mainstream followers. I know that sounds strange, but most person don't completely follows their faith. Good luck!

First off, what religion are you know? If you are a muslim, catholic, or any other religion besides a Protestent Christian, your choice to convert is respectable. You should convert to a Christian, NOT A CATHOLIC, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. You ask why, here's why: CHRISTIANITY (1) Teaches to love all people (2) It is a very personal religion, you can know God (3) You can escape the wrath of God. Islam is not a peacful religion, they teach to kill infadels. Catholicsm is not Christianity, it is a perverted religion. Christianity is the way to go! Trust me, I have had experience. BEST OF LUCK!!!!! John 8:32 "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

What makes you think you need to be part of any religion anyway? You're not the first person who has asked this question. Some people seem to think that they must belong to some sort of religion. It's as if they don't even consider the idea of a life without religion. I don't understand that.
I would recommend no religion at all.

Go to a variety of places of worship if one captures you research it more and see if it is a match at where you are at spiritually then practice it.
I recommend discovery for yourself not the recommendation of someone else. Religion is a very person relationship that can best be matched by the individual.

The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His will): nor did the people of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah Allah is swift in calling to account.
If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah) never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good) (Holy Quran)

Sorry, I can't make recommendations of what you should change to, because I have no way of knowing what you want to change from.

I would suggest, studying and researching the Bible. It is historically correct. An older one though, as they are changing newer ones. There are so many beliefs and misconceptions out there. It's really up to us to search for the truth. Best wishes.

If you are a Christian, i would recommend not changing. Read the bible and pray. If you are another religion, I would suggest Christianity. Its the only religion that their God died for them and arose.
