It's $3.60 where I live. This is ridiculous as oil is plenty but we're getting robbed because of that idiot in the White House, who bought up all the oil in 2002 to drive up the prices. Then invaded Iraq which further drove up prices.
In 2000 under Clinton, oil was only 89¢ in California. See what happens when idiots elect oil barons in to office?????????
Oil companies are raking in record profits, even eclipsing Wal-Mart!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least in European countries, such as England, tax is 70% so w/o it, they are paying much less than we are. Plus they mostly use diesel and have much more fuel efficient vehicles. In the US, Bush refuses to pass mandates to force manufacturers to build fuel efficient cars. Instead he's giving tax write offs for buying gas guzzlers such as Hummers.

A gallon of petrol here is different all over. I'm in San Francisco, California and the price can range from $3-4/gallon. If I go across the bay to visit my parents (25 minutes away), it's about $0.30/gallon less. I think last year there was a bigger difference depending on the city you're in, but this year it's around the same price. The East Coast seems a little less expensive. As for the revenue, I'm not sure about that. Either way, the petrol price has been increasing slowly these past few months, without a hint of stopping or decreasing. Depending on what kind of vehicle you have, the prices can affect you a lot. $10/gallon is a lot compared to here.
Check out the source below to get gas prices all over the US. You would just have to search a state's zip code and type it in.

I'm in west Texas and it's $3.39 for unleaded and $3.69 a gallon for the top grade. I have a diesel truck and diesel is running $2.89 a gallon right now, costs me about $30 a week to drive. Also have a little Nissan Sentra that costs me about $10 a week to drive. Guess which one I'm driving, lol!
Texas has a .20 cent a gallon gas tax. The House voted to repeal it for the summer months but the Senate is expected to vote against it.
The UK has always had obscene fuel prices (by our standards anyway). I don't know how you guys can afford to drive anywhere! If our's keep climbing like this, maybe those bloated SUVs everyone keeps buying will finally fall out of style.

10$ yeah... but that's also due to exchange rates, and really indicates how much it would cost for a visiting American to purchase in the UK. IE if you came over here, it would run you app 1p50 for a gallon of gas. Depends on the state and the state taxes levied on each gallon of gas. CNN reporting Aspen,CO has gas for 4.09 today. Local pumps in NC show how much tax per gallon is levied... so with 39c per gallon, gas in NC will be MUCH more expensive than in SC 12c per gallon. We're seeing 3.30 for 93 octane right now.

Depends on where in the USA you are. Our fuel is also taxed heavily, though not as bad as yours. California with its clean air laws, has among the highest prices. Here in Oklahoma it's currently $3.25 average per gallon. California is at $3.38 average. If you know the ZIP code, this page will show you prices in the USA. http://autos.msn.com/everyday/GasStations.aspx?m=1&l=1&zip=73446&x=14&y=13

About 3.15 per gallon and rising (regular).
We get taxed on it too. I'd say about .75 per gallon of that is taxes depending on the state you live in.
