Ok...here's the situation and what we want to do...

The dishwasher was leaking between the linoleum and sub-floors for at least a year and no one knew. So the floor needs to be completely gutted and replaced.

We WANT to flip-flop the kitchen and dining rooms to make the kitchen bigger and the dining room smaller.

I'm guessing we'd need to do new electric, plumbing, floors, walls, and we'd be building the kitchen completely new...new cabinets, counters...the whole nine yards.

Does anyone have a clue how much this could cost us? I'm sure a lot, but we won’t be starting for probably another 6-9 months on the project. Also, we need to have the entire thing done in 1-2 weeks...is that possible?

We have not started looking into this yet, we just discussed it yesterday.

First thing I'd do would be to form a plan of exactly what you want done. Figure out a floor plan and calculate how many cabinets etc you will need. Then get estimates on the work unless you are doing everything yourself. Unless you are a licensed plumber and electrician, you will probably have to contract out that part. There are inspections that may have to be done as the work progresses and that depends on your city code. What ever estimate you come up with, add 50%. Also, add extra time because there's always something that goes awry. I am not confident that you could get it all done in 2 weeks unless you stayed with the job and made sure that everything went as scheduled. good luck!

A new kitchen can easily cost $10,000 depending on your choice of materials used. Shop around, get quotes on cabinets, flooring etc.see what you can afford. It can be done in t wo weeks.

Just know that it will be thousands. I am guesstimating 10,000.00 and that is probably on the cheaper side.
Try to find a friend that knows electrical and plumbing to knock that down a bit.

obviously this is a big deal.. relocated lines for water, power and drain could add up to pretty big bucks.

Depending on what you do, you could easily put $50K in it in materials and labor. could be more

Good luck!
