I'm not a christian but I found some interesting book and online stuff. Thought I get some answers from catholic people and christians.

Plus XII, in a radio broadcast in 1946: "Mary, for having been associated with the King of Martyrs in the ineffable work of human Redemption as Mother and cooperatrix, she remains forever associated with him, with an almost unlimited power, in the distribution of graces which flow from the Redemption."

Benedict XV, Inter Sodalicia, 1918: "To such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for : man's salvation . . that we may rightly say she redeemed the human race together with Christ."

John Paul II, Dives in Misericordia, 1980, quoting Lumen Gentium, "In fact, by being assumed into heaven she has not laid aside the office of salvation but by the manifold intercession she continues to obtain for us the grace of eternal salvation."

Popes say that Mary Saves Souls!

Paul VI, Christi Matri. "The Church ... been accustomed to have recourse to that most ready intercessor, her Mother Mary ... For as St. Irenaeus says, she 'has become the cause of salvation for the whole human race"

Leo XIII, Supremi Apostolatus, 1883: "O Mary, the guardian of our peace and the dispensatrix of heavenly graces."

Plus X, Ad Diem Illum, 1904: "It was granted to the august Virgin to be together with her Only-begotten Son the most powerful Mediatrix and Conciliatrix of the whole world. So Christ is the source . . . Mary, however, as St. Bernard justly remarks, is the channel, or she is the neck by which the Body is united to the Head... through which ALL spiritual gifts are communicated to his Body."

Me thinks Ye be Right Mate! But I am intrigued, not a Christian, and still seeking the Truth. Ok, Catholics claim to be Christian & no doubt some may be, but they are blinded from the Truth U have found & willing to just sit there in their own Ignorance as Brain Dead followers of a Carnal Religion (run by Pedafiles & Worse)!!! Have U wondered why U are on a search for the Truth??? I think U know that Christianity is NOT a Religion, but a personal relationship between U & the Lord. It has no "Hoops" or "Do Lists", that's between U & God. I also think that U know that being a Christian means Eternal Salvation, so perhaps U are at the turning point in Ur life & know that U need to make a commitment??? I for one would be happy to see U join the ranks of true Christan Believers, it's up to U. John

interior the early historic context, there became a relentless state of argument between the trinitarians (father, son and holy spirit all forms of God) and the unitarians (one God). The Roman Catholic Church Canon regulation declares concept interior the trinity. This became widespread below the rule of Emperor Constantine. the internet sites decrease than provide you extra information with regard to the unitarian/trinitarian conflict and Trinitarian Universalism.

Your conclusion to the statements is wrong. The popes are simply saying that St. Mary co-operates in salvation by intercessionary prayer to her Son for mankind. They are pointing out the importance of her co-operation in the savific plan of God which Protestants conveniently overlook.

As you said yourself, you are not a Christian, so by what authority do you declare Mary saves sousl?

Perhaps if you understood Catholic theology, you would have not taken so much out of context:

<>

What do you think "been associated" refers to? Mary is "associated" with Jesus by virtue of being chosen to be the Mother of Jesus and thus, having an intergral role in the Salvation of mankind. She, herself, does not possess saving power, but the one she gave birth so does.

<>

Mary is the only common person to have been born without Original Sin, and she never committed sin in her lifetime. Only one who is "Full of Grace" can withstand the temptation of sin for an entire natural lifetime. Only one who is Full of Grace can fully grasp the gravity of Jesus' Passion, Death, and Resurection - as these events unfolded before fer very eyes. While the rest of humanity is still attempting to grasp these very events 2,000 later, Mary understood them fully. This is why her suffering in life is surpassed only by that of Jesus.

<>

"Manifold INTERCESSION", is what Pope John Paul II. He did not say, "manifold mediator", which is what you are making her out to be. By virtue of Mary's sinlesness, she was Assumed into Heaven body and soul. The rest of us, by virtue of our sinfulness, will have to wait until the End Times before we can be reunited with out bodies in Heaven.

Mary, any saint for that matter, functions as an intercessor - not a mediator. Mary is the greatest of saints and, thus, is the most powerful intercessor. Mary derives her power as the most influential intercessor, not opposed to but, by virtue of Jesus' power.

Mary helps save souls, but we all should be doing that to the best of our ability to understand such things allow. By helping save souls, we do not become mediators, we are functioning as intercessors. Mary is an intercessor, not a mediator.

ADDITION: No matter how many out-of-context quotes you continue to add, you will not change the Nature of the Truth as it pertains to Mary.

Mary is many, many, things:
The Mother of God
The Immaculate Ark of the New Covenant
Mary is Our Mother.
Mary is the Queen of the New Covenant Kingdom
Mary is Ever Virgin
Mary is the New Eve and Most Blessed Among Women

Finally - Mary is our Powerful Intercessor, not mediator - INTERCESSOR.

Funny then that JPII in the most clearest terms condemned the Co-Redemptrix Movement as heretical and not in keeping with Biblical teaching.

He showed Mary special reverence, but reserved his worship for God alone.

we as Catholics do NOT worship Mary. We look to her for example (she in an act of perfect faith allowed herself to conceive Christ without knowing a man) and intersession (like prayer in numbers). the Rosery, for example, is a meditative/intercessory prayer during which we focus on certain events in the life of Christ in the aim that we become more like Him, etc. We hold Mary high because she was chosen by God to give birth to Christ and raise him up, and because of that closeness (ie the maternal bond with her child) we pray for intersessions. We look to her more so as an example to attain in that she gives us an example of perfect faith to live by and continually seek after. Again, we do NOT pray to Mary as a deity, we pray more so with her to God.

I am still learning an growing in my faith as a Catholic Christian as I am a recent convert, this being one of the many obstacles that i have had to overcome.

Mary plays a role in our redemption in that she brought our Redeemer into the world through her obedience to God. She does not redeem us on her own, but through her prayers for us. Just as we pray for one another, Mary prays for us, for our salvation. So through her obedience to God and through her prayers, yes she does help save souls.

God bless,
Stanbo

What part of MANIFOLD INTERCESSION do you not understand?

man·i·fold adj
1.of many different kinds
2.having many parts, forms, or applications

in·ter·ces·sion n
1.the action of pleading on somebody’s behalf
2.the action of attempting to settle a dispute
3.prayer to God on behalf of somebody or something

In many and varied ways, Mary goes to God for us. Essentially to plead our case. Settle our dispute, so to speak.

Dear Wendy: Catholics to not pray to saints. Do you ask your friends and family to pray for you? That's what we Catholics do too. The saints are our friends and intercede for us.

If infant baptism is wrong, then you must also believe that its Hebrew equivalent, infant circumcision is wrong. The parents of Jesus took him to be circumcised when he was an infant. I guess that was very wrong of them, huh?

Genesis, Chapter 17

God speaks to Abraham as to the SIGN OF HIS COVENANT

12 For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring.

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months.

Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against Yahweh, to blaspheme his NAME, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Given that each religion defines god it's own way, and that blasphemy is by definition in respect only to that religion's god, it is impossible for any religion to be blasphemous.

I think what you mean is that is different to your religion. You cannot claim blasphemy for another religion, even if you think your god is the only god.
