I respect my fellow human because they have worth, in and of themselves. I don't kill them or cheat them becuase a SkyGod told me not to or because a Skygod gave them worth.

Mainly Trial and Error! But seriously who always follows the Morals of Earth. A true believer would know that the only Morals that are a must to follow are those that where given to us by our God of any kind.

Same place all morals ultimately come from--society.

Imagine if you were the only person in the world. Would it even be possible for you to do something that was immoral? So we see from this simple thought experiment that morality is a social contract.

Some might claim you are immoral for not worshipping Allah in the proper manner. That is just as much nonsense as you claiming someone else is immoral for the very same thing.

Morals are in part built into you when you are born, and in part are taught to you either directly or through experience. This is true whether or not you believe in God. The only difference is that people who believe in God think that morals are somehow handed down to us by a higher authority. But isn't that just something else they were taught or is somehow or other ingrained in what they believe?

Family, Teachers, History.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, regardless of how they treat me. I look back overtime, and notice all of the wrongs that have been committed in the name of god. I generally use that as a guideline as to what NOT to do.

It drives me crazy that people need a bible or a god in order to have morals. What will these people do when they realize there is no god, and that the bible was compiled by men with an agenda to control and have power over people.

Even if you believe in a God, that is beside the point, because you are taught morals in school and from your parents who may be atheists. You only need one dictate. Do unto others only what you would have them do unto you. I am used to the religous words, but anybody feels this way without being exposed to religion. It is a natural moral approach that makes sense to each of us, and is automatically sensed by us without religious training.

Another true-believer who imagines God is the sole source of moral behavior. Because your question appears sincere, I'll venture a sincere answer.

Human beings have been living as social beings and working cooperatively since the dawn of civilization. Because we are social animals, we have evolved social instincts that serve to regulate basic human interactions. For the sake of brevity, these instincts boil down to just two rules: The first is the familiar Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The second is the Inverse Golden Rule, "Do not do unto others as you would have them not do unto you." All the morality a human being requires to mutually coexist as a member of civilization can be derived from these two principles. Please notice that no imaginary God is required to regulate human affairs.

There are many outside influences that affect your moral judgment, namely friends, family, society. However I believe in GOD and I feel morals are also dictated by our conscience sense of right or wrong (which I was taught was given to us by GOD). He has given us the tools we need to know him and to live a righteous life(we have the option to use those tools or ignore them). We are sinners, we have a sinful nature. Whether you believe in God or not, he believes in you and loves you.

I know this might sound amazing to some of the Bible believer's out there, but many of us can and do determine the difference between right and wrong ourselves. Personally, I regard the whole Bible fairy tail as training wheels for the weak minded.
Life is difficult, and few things are black and white. Even wise people cannot see everything. The Bible's teachings do not answer every situation.
This said, I think that we all adopt our own code of morals and ethics, regardless of what dicta we profess to adhere to.

Morals do not come from God. Are you saying that no one who believes in a God has morals? That sounds like cult thinking. People develop morals from family, friends, society, etc...

Wow! Are you moral only because you are afraid of God? Would you become a mass murderer if you found out your church had been lying about God and their relationship with him?

My morality comes from a respect for my fellow humans' value and all other creatures' dignity.

Why? Because all creatures are entitled to life. All humans are entitled to attempt to be happy and joyful in their lives.
