The idea of a Christian God is repugnant to the world, because for them God is the smell of judgement and death.

You can't hate something that doesn't exist. It's not god that inspires the hate. It is the Terror, Death and destruction in the name of Gods that's responsible. People claiming to be adherents to religion using that religion as an excuse for violent and reprehensible behaviour.
There is no objective proof that there are Gods. There is plenty evidence that there are no gods. Take a quick glance at the history of religion, it is the history of violence, the history of death, the history of endless war.
Primitive Humans created religion to pacify fears and Ignorance's about a world they couldn't understand. Eons past and the conclusions of those fears evolved into the complicated religious and philosophical systems we have today around the world.
Modern Humans are paying a heavy penalty for following and adding to, the conclusions fearfull and unscientific minds came to about a world beyond their comprehension.

Hate, well, it's just too strong a word to describe the feeling. It's not the god that these people (myself included) dislike. It's the church. Specifically, it's how the church proudly oppresses others for the sake of their mythology and that they think their values are not only superior because of an unfounded belief that those values come from a divine source, but that everyone should follow them. Please note that church refers to the people involved in the religion, not the mythological godhead. Dislike is a much more accurate term. So are: disgusted by, annoyed with, angered, insulted.

Q. If I don't believe god exists then how can I hate god...
Hmm well, even if I don't believe their is a the-god, I can hate your-god, that is your description/concept on what you think god is, thats a concept can be hated but this is not quite the same as hating god himself. Just hating a particular person is not the same as hating all people.
As a Christian(I'm assuming you are) you are actually supposed to do this: hate "other" gods that, at the same time you don't believe in. Eg. A lot of christians hate the pagan gods. It was one of the 10 commandments, you're god invented intolerance, good for him.
AND YOUR RIGHT, DOING SO IS STUPID TOO!

You should really do a search before posting questions like these.... This question has been asked so many times before.
Jesus Christ (hahahaha) can't you people come up with some more original questions instead of spouting out the same psycho-babble that all the other christians spout that they read on the internet? Like the people who go & read Ray comfort & kirk cameron's sites & comes on Y!A to ask "if god doesn't exist why are bananas great for humans to eat?" ...... Come up with something original for a change! Damn!

If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time.
The reason organized religion merits outright hostility is that, unlike belief in Russell's teapot, religion is powerful, influential, tax-exempt and systematically passed on to children too young to defend themselves. Children are not compelled to spend their formative years memorizing loony books about teapots. Government-subsidized schools don't exclude children whose parents prefer the wrong shape of teapot. Teapot-believers don't stone teapot-unbelievers, teapot-apostates, teapot-heretics and teapot-blasphemers to death. Mothers don't warn their sons off marrying teapot-shiksas whose parents believe in three teapots rather than one. People who put the milk in first don't kneecap those who put the tea in first.

I don't hate the nonexistent being that goes by the name of God, I hate how all the people believe in this being decide that they have some sort of moral authority to dictate their beliefs on the rest of society.

Can't help you here sport. I'm an atheist and like all atheists I believe firmly that there is no god. I can't possibly hate something that doesn't exist. I'm not too fond of ignorance, but non-existence is easily forgivable.

I don't believe the Abrahamic god exists, but if he does, a god who'd send people to hell for eternity for the actions in the eyeblink of time of a human life deserves hatred.
I could never understand the appeal of such a god.

Show me ONE answer here where someone states that they hate God, and then in the same statement say that he doesn't exist.
Just one. That's all I ask.
