Absolutely better to have loved and lost......if you never love, you may never get hurt but you will never have the reward of being in love and having it returned. Everything comes with consequence and without risk there is no reward.

Of course. Love is the greatest form of Joy that was created for our experience.
Learning is also a natural process of life.
Combine the 2 and you get Love and Loss and the progression of a human being.
Love with all your heart !

I agree whole heartedly. Love can do nothing but better enrich our lives, and I would rather be single/alone at any age knowing love than never knowing it all. The pain of losing someone, whether it be a spouse, a significant other, a child, a parent, a friend...anyone...is a terrible pain to experience, but then we have to ask ourselves where we would be in life had we never known that person.

i say its better to have loved and loss. (agree) i have never been loved and i feel so useless/worthless that no one has loved me. if you have the experience you can at least know what it was like and then judge it. you can also then learn from it and have a better experience the next time.

YES.............I was deeply in love for over 5 years and that was the absolute best time of my life!! Even though we are going through a divorce now, I wouldn't trade that feeling I had for anything! I feel blessed because I got to feel what true love really is.............it just didn't last 4-ever! Now, I only hope I can find even half of that feeling I had for him with someone else!
