My coworker was trying to fight me on this.
I kinda got upset because I asked her if Jesus wanted us to be apart of these nations why didn't he accept them himself when satan offered it to him...

It wouldn't make since if Jesus and God says all these other nations & kingdoms would be brought to ruin and to stay away from them, but to pray for politics.

Is politics even in the Bible.

I think she was lying...

but no man will be able to make this world a better place, only jesus. so why pray for a man who in a since trys to play god in many ways, but with his imperfections will not succeed.

I recall the bible saying all these other kingdoms will be brought to ruin, but not Gods. Only God as ruler will have his kingdom stand. Meaning no matter what these presidents try to do their's will be brought to ruin...

Jesus did not accept the nations from Satan because Satan has nothing to offer.
Yes we should pray for and be involved in Politics. What do you think we should do, just sit quietly by and let Satan do whatever he wants? If we are not involved then we are giving Satan 100% control over the world Governments. Do you not realise that is how the Bible got taken out of our schools and abortion got made legal? The Church stayed home and said we should not get involved in politics.
If you are not involved then you have no right even praying about it when it is illegal to be a Christian in America. You dont think thay could happen, just look at the way things are heading.

Is politics even in the Bible? What a stupid question. Does the Bible tell you that you need to breath in order to live? Does the Bible tell you to take a bath? Is the telephone, car, TV, radio, etc, is any of those in the Bible? NO!! I bet you use them every day.

It doesn't. Politics and church started to get together in the days of Constantine in the year 312 C.E. Constantine was a pagan emperor. But the bishops of the church back then got on his good side and they all decided to compromise on things. From that point on, Christianity has been involved in politics. Here's what the Bible really says about politics - Jesus stated that his kingdom is no part of the world. (John 18:36; John 15:19) Makes you wonder doesn't it? Is there a religion out there that doesn't have politics mixed in with it? There is one.

Yes, we are to be in subjection to the rulers, obey laws, etc. But that doesn't mean we are to worship them.

And another thing - how could Satan offer the countries of the world to Jesus unless he owned them? 1 John 5:19

Jesus Christ says, "My Kingdom don't belong to the world." world means people who don't honor God such as politics, too much parties, dress so dirty, etc. as christian is not the same as the system of the world.

bout politics, we must obey politics to pay the tax for war, school, library, medicine, etc. pray for politics not found in the Bible. only pray God through Jesus Christ. -Matthew 6:9,10

we should obey God rather than men. obey God no matter if politics conflicts on God's Law. interesting on how politics in long ago read Bible and follow it like for example, do not murder. politics what to do is if suspect kill other, the politics send police to grab suspect to jail. but now it so worse the politics add the new law dat conflicts God's law.

Extreme anything in this world is dangerous except extreme love, obedience, and service to our Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe the Bible might mentioned listening to the king and obeying the laws. I think Peter in his letters wrote about it and maybe even Paul.

Don’t fight with believers especially in front non-believers. Pray together and see what the Spirit of God and the Word of God will explain this issue to both of you.

If the world belong to Satan (1 John 5:19) and God will bring a kingdom that will destroy it (Daniel 2:44) and Jesus said not been part of this world (John 17.5-10) why pray for something that is going to be destroyed? it is not logical.

Here's a few verses that ask us to pray for our rulers:

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority;
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour"
(I Timothy 2:1-3).
“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves” (Rom. 13:1-2).

Hope this helps! I think we NEED to pray for the BEST authority, although ultimately the collective "people" will determine who gets in.

1 Timothy 2

1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Praying for our leaders, does not mean we are bowing down to them- Actually when we pray, we need to be praying that through these men God will be glorified. If we do not "like" what our leaders are doing, instead of complaining we need to pray.

You should pray for what's important to you.

If I think a certain president could be detrimental to the country, I might pray that his counterpart gets elected, and then do all in my power to help.

Saluting the flag and singing the national anthem is a sort of worshipping false idols.

And Uncle Sam is a graven image.

So this is a dialogue of the deaf.
