All the psalms are poems. Psalm 23 is a famous passage for young kids to memorize.

The Song of Solomon (contrary to posts below me, it's only One "song", not "songs")
Psalms
Some are shorter and can be memorized ("The Lord is my shepherd...", Psalm 24) and others are insanely long. Shakespeare actually rewrote Psalm 47 (a long one) for the KJV so that it would read more poetically in English.
Good luck!

Try the book of Psalms. There are lots of really short ones, medium, and long ones.
