from all the answers i have read...all i can conclude is that the bible is very prejudiced.....and that god cannot be biased...its humans who make themselves important everywhere......
the bible describes everythin as being made perfect for man...(i doubt that is there in the real world)

P.S : and killing animals is as good as shedding innocent blood...

Do you know that not only those who believe in the Bible do kill animals?!

Don't be so surprise, but many none Bible believers do kill animals and have certain rituals in how to kill them so as they can eat their meat. It is called survivor. If it was not for the animals, some people might eat each others to live. It did happen, and in some remote areas still happens today.

Many religion don't prohibit eating the meat of other animals. In the Quran for example it shows how a person should kill the animal as well.

If you are vegan! good for you. Not everyone can do it.

How do you know plants don't feel pain?
How come so plants when you speak to them they grow faster!
How come when you put a plants near a window. they try to turn to the light for their nourishment!

I didn't want to mention the word 'prejudice', but since you added that word in your question! I thought you may have not noticed my dear, your question sound a bit prejudice against those who believe in the bible. As I mentioned before, bible believer are not the only people who do eat meat.

Peace to you and for your love toward animals. Please share that love toward other beings. We all are animals, only we are just a different form of life.
Thank you.

Wow. Lots of varied and utterly unsubstantiated responses here.

In Genesis, God creates man and animals. We are all - yes ALL - vegetarians. Even the lions and tigers. We all live happily together.

Douay Rheims Bible.
Genesis, Chapter 1 verses 29-30
And God said: Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed upon the earth, and all trees that have in themselves seed of their own kind, to be your meat: And to all beasts of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to all that move upon the earth, and wherein there is life, that they may have to feed upon. And it was so done.

Then man fell into sin. So along comes Noah. Builds and ark. Packs up the critters. God says all bets are off. Go ahead and eat the animals.

But there is a catch. As a consequence of this action, the animals will hate and fear us.

Fast Forward to the Book of Isaiah. Isaiah is a prophet. Isaiah scolds the people for not listening to God. He then tells people what the Kingdom of God will be like when Christ returns. We will all - yes ALL - once againa be vegetarian.

Isaiah, Chapter 11 verses 6-10

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb: and the leopard shall lie down with the kid: the calf and the lion, and the sheep shall abide together, and a little child shall lead them. The calf and the bear shall feed: their young ones shall rest together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp: and the weaned child shall thrust his hand into the den of the basilisk. They shall not hurt, nor shall they kill in all my holy mountain, for the earth is filled with the knowledge of the Lord, as the covering waters of the sea. In that day the root of Jesse, who standeth for an ensign of the people, him the Gentiles shall beseech, and his sepulchre shall be glorious.

I say why wait?

You can kill other people. You can not shed innocent blood.
To kill and murder are diffrent things.

God does not fault a man for defending his own life by killing another man. Did you know Moses killed a particularly harsh Egyptian taskmaster? God still thought him worthy to lead his people out of Egypt.

God does not hold soldiers at war as murderers. They are being shot at and their enemy is trying to kill them too.

Animals have no perception of life. They can't hold a rational thought. They have no self-awareness. They were given to us to have dominion over, but a good man will kill fast and suddenly as to be kind. No one should torture an animal to death.

God did not first make creation with any killing in mind. It was man's corruption that this became a fact of life. If they didn't want God to sustain them by obeying him. Then it became needed that that take in sustenance.

There is no wrong in it at all.

there is nothing wrong with being vegetarian or vegan, but with regards to the Bible, animals were placed on earth for man (to coexist with and eat to survive, as would be with eating plants). why a man cannot kill another man without it being considered murder is because man is given a spiritual soul, being created in the image and likeness of God.

This is the "religious" answer:

In the Old Testament it was prohibited and it was a Law. In the New testament, Jesus came and "freed us from the curse of the Law".

This is the secular answer: Don't eat the flesh of animals if that is your preference. As for humans, do you propose cannibalism in fairness to animals?

Humans would be extinct. Do you really hate beef that bad where you would starve yourself? I would rather eat meat than veggies any day because it's food.

Lions think we are food, but the bible doesn't say it's a sin for lions to eat people; it states the opposite. That's only according to you.

In Acts 11 it actually tells us to kill and eat the animals of the Earth. It says that it is alright to eat what the Lord has made clean...

That's correct. You cannot kill an animal just to eat its meat. It has to insult your family, commit the sin of blasphemy, or make war on your city-state before you are allowed to kill and eat it.

You are interpreting the Bible as to what makes you feel comfortable. That means you question has little weight.
