Yes I believe this is true. The Jews are God's chosen people. I also believe that the reason America is such a prosperous nation is because we support Israel.

We are cautioned to prove all things:
1 Thessalonians 5:21.
I think you misunderstand and/or are missing some vital pieces of information. This is really too big of a question to handle on this forum, but I will give you a partial answer and list some websites where you can go and learn the rest, if you wish.
1.) Abraham was not a Jew, most of his descendents thru Issac are not Jews. The Jews are only one of the original 12 Tribes of Israel. That leaves 11 tribes that are Israelite but not Jews.
Say I live in Pennsylvania, and you live in New York. We are both American but not both New Yorkers or Pennsylvanians. Same thing with Abraham's descendents, some were Jews, some were Danites, some were from Ashur...but they were all Israelites.
Now, from my discussions on other forums with Jews, the way the Jews view this is that Abraham was the first Jew. If that were true, then all the Ishmaelites (arabs) would have to be considered Jews also. Plus all the childern from Abraham's other wives.
2.) If the Jews are still the "Chosen People" then why do you claim to be a Christian? (If you do). If I thought someone was one of the Chosen Ones, I would sure want to be just like them!
Do I think that the Jews are a "chosen" people? Yes, as far as physical ancestry goes. But they rejected the truth about Yashua, so at the present time, they are separated from God.
Does that mean that God has not blessed them? No. it is balatantly obvious that He has blessed them.....for now.
3.) Are their claims to the land valid? Absolutely! It was given to the Israelites by God. But they are NOT Israel. That tiny little country that has been facing down it's enemies for the last 60 years is really the Judah, or Judea of the Bible.
Now, please understand, the only tribes of Israel living in the Holy Land at the time of Yashua and the Apostles were Judah (Yashua was Jewish), Benjamin (Paul was a Benjamite), and Levi (the priests). The rest had been taken into captivity hundreds of years before and seemingly disappeard from the historical record.
So the prophecy of the return is only partially completed at this time. There are still 10 tribes of Israel out there somewhere.
(Yes, I know, 3 + 10 = 13, read Genesis 49 and Revelations 7 and compare the lists)
You need to study these sites to see why the USA is such an ardent supporter of "Israel".

The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 ce and its temple was the end of the earthly city of Jerusalem being the centrepoint for the worship of the true god. Since the message of the new covenant and the kingdom of god would be spread into every nation and tongue and tribe for a witness to all the nations.
The gentile nations were entered into the new covenant from the time of Cornelius. Just as Jehovah said to Abram ' by means of your seed ( Jesus ) ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH will bless themselves'. This shows god's foresight as the Israelites when they entered the promised land were a specially divinely blessed and protected people.
This is not true of the 21st century. Despite being targeted by the evil Nazi power and then establishing a nation in the old land of the hebrew scriptures God is not supporting the political nation of Israel today.
God's kingdom will bring blessings to all mankind and not only the Jews. Do not look for a fulfillment in Israel and Jerusalem of any bible prophecy. These governments look to men to dekliver peace and lean upon human understanding , not that of the creator, Jehovah.

Read the quotation more closely and you could see that a man wrote these words, not God! God knows that when we look back to the far reaches of our own peoples beginnings, each group in turn thinks of their group as the "Chosen People!"
The Jews are a Chosen People, but so are the Chinese, and all of the groups that make up the Chinese! Funny thing is that God's promise is that he or she loves all the people because God has no favorites!
One of the major puzzles when you think about God is how can any God love all the people with the same quantity and quality of love, each and everyone of the people?
Now doesn't that feel a lot better than the old man's very human vision of what God feels?

I believe that the Jews can claim whatever they like and so can The Muslims, and Christians and Catholics. Is a piece of land a show of God's Almighty blessings? No, what's in your heart is a show of his blessings. I dont believe that any land is anyones the land belongs to everyone. The Mother needs to be respected and honored by all and governed by noone. If I were you I'd worry more about doing right by God and The Mother Earth than worry about a plot of land that will be there til the end of time......Get over yourself and be happy you have a home cuz theres people that dont even have that luck....you outta be ashamed fighting over dirt and not helping your neighbor. That's a true sign of God's blessings is the love shared between all peoples.

The Jews are no longer God's chosen people. Were in Old Testament but With Jesus death all are equal under the New Testament. The Jews were responsible for Christs death and they, the Jews, were scattered to the four corners of the earth and they were a homeless people.

You are being selective with your observations.
If your premise of:
He "will bless those who bless the Jews and curse whoever curses the Jews."
was correct then:
The Roman empire would have fallen after the invasion of Israel. Or after the bloody repression of the revolts.
The Catholic church would have been wiped off the face of the Earth when the Spanish Inquisition began.
Germany would be a wasteland.
The KKK would not exist.

One Bible verse is not proof of anything. Factor in context of the verse, the history of the Jews from that point throughout the rest of the Bible, the pain and suffering that Jews endured throughout post-Bible history, and the instability they survive in now... they don't seem that blessed. The fact is that MANY groups of people have suffered and survived throughout history and into the present. Who is to say that they are not blessed, too? Even if you believe in the Bible, and I do, you need more evidence than this.
