I think schools should offer a strong vocational ed program with internships and placement.

How does society benefit from trying to forcefeed an academic program to students who don't find it meaningful and aren't planning to go to college?

The government should keep it's nose out of education... Education doesn't need reforming.

And no... getting rid of 11th and 12th grade makes no sense at all.

State and Federal governments are the reasons public education is in the sorry state it's in now, so we surely don't need any more interference .
Why in the world would we want students to have even less education???

Besides putting millions of already underpaid teachers out of work I think it would do a great disservice to preparing young adults for the real world or college. Many juniors and seniors get invaluable job training in vocational classes, career counseling, and college preparatory in their final two years in high school. Not to mention the fact that a fair majority of the student's social development happens in those two years. Not all of the education that happens in a high school happens with a book or pen and paper.

I don't think so, but I think they should consider abolishing some parents who don't know how to encourage their kids and keep them in school.
