According to the US Census, the number of people identifying themselves as Christian dropped from 88.3% of the population in 1990 to 79.8% in 2001.
Meanwhile, the number of people identifying themselves as Agnostic or Atheist increased from 8.4% of the population in 1990 to 15.0% in 2001, which is an increase of about 100% in numerical terms! The number of religious non-Christians also increased a little percentage-wise, but not by much.
Additionally, of the respondents who identified with a religion (Christian and non-Christian), 40% didn't actually belong to a church or similar institution. This means only 48% of the population is a Christian who belongs to a church!
Finally, many of the major denominations (Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans) are aging, meaning the decline in numbers is likely to continue.

Christianity is a dying religion for several reasons. Chief among them is that it in the past, people have had it forced upon them. Many have been murdered and tormented to convert; cultures have been destroyed. Secondly, it's clear that many persons who hold the sacred trust see others as merely cattle to support them and provide them with sexual opportunities and cash. Finally, many Christian churches are teaching hate and control of others outright. Kindof think they have never read the New Testament. You only have to see the lambasting that occurs anytime someone brings up abortion to see the hate and need to control (these same people don't help those who are already here).
Just like these giant corporations, it will take a long time for the body to die, so I'm sure it will be around a long time.

We have freedom of choice in religion. In some religions if you went pagan or atheist you could end up intimidated or worse.
It is God's way to salvation, so He will always maintain it, even when pride and false religion would seek to snuff it out.

It would be nice to think so but I doubt it. And in any case, is there anything to celebrate about the fact that Islam is growing at a greater rate than Christianity is declining? It's about time the Judeo-Christian god was dispensed with in all his forms. Allah has no more to recommend him than Yahweh. Vicious psychopath.

No...but, I hope fundamentalism is a dying sect. Fundamentalists have turned more souls away from God than any other sect.
