My supervisor wants me to send out an email requesting the vacation schedules from the group. I’m kind of nervous, because I’m not the best writer and don’t want to sound stupid. Can some one give me some insight, on how I should send the email. I wanted to add a little humor.

I do this all the time. Here... try this.

Hi Everyone.

I need all vacation requests so that I can place them on the calendar and get them approved asap. Email me your schedule as soon as possible. Thanks!

Is it appropriate in your work environment to add humor? This is a simple email to a group of people asking a particular item. Make sure it is friendly, succint, is spelled correctly and uses proper grammar. It does not have to be long.

Dear Team:

We need all the vacation schedules turned in so we can (why you need them). Please turn them in to me no later than (date you need them).

Thank you all for your prompt attention to this matter.

Time for your vacation schedules to be turned in. Please don't everyone turn in the same weeks.

Email me back ASAP or no later than __________.

Thanks,
