Why do people hate the Kids on Fire ministry and Jesus Camp so much?
I myself think it is a great ministry for children. What are your thoughts on The kids on Fire camp. And also on the movie Jesus Camp that was made about it.

It's a good ministry for kids and I don't think there are really any Christian groups hating it so much. Only atheists who have trained their child that everyone is an animal, they all came from monkeys, and that life came out of a pool of chemicals, even though they have no proof of it. In short, they have their faith and they don't like it when people tell them they are children of God rather than children of monkeys.

Yar har har! Professor Anthrax here to say, there's no way any fruit of me loins would be sent to such a terrible place. I understand that this camp isn't as offensive to "on fire" christians as it is to everyone else, obviously. But, look at how these kids are being scared into tears by the judgemental hell-fire preaching they're being brainwashed by. I guarantee we'll be hearing horror stories from those kids as they grow up and seek therapy. I pity them so very much, and wish them well.

Its awful. They speak of making children into Gods Soldiers. That is awfully close to those kids who are toting guns around in Africa. This is not the place for CHILDREN! They are supposed to be learning about the good in the world, all the beauty. The world can be a cold and ugly place, why rush it?? I think Jesus would be disgusted with the way they are using these children to further thier own twisted cause. This is NOT christianity. Its a scary awful place to send children.

Because it teaches kids how to be bigoted adults like their parents. It tells kids to be warriors for Jesus and whips them into a frenzy. Because it teaches kids the if your not with us your against us propaganda which leaves no room for people of other faith and cultures. Because it teaches kids that it OK to discriminate from anybody that thinks differently then they do. Because it teaches kids that some how their better then everybody else, because everybody else is of the devil. Because it teaches hate and intolerance for your fellow man.

Well, why do you see Jesus camp as any different from the "Mickey mouse" character on middle east T.V. inciting the children to hate and kill westerners and Jews. There is absolutely no difference, except Jesus camp uses the word Jesus and the mickey mouse character uses Allah. Both are sickening examples of child abuse of the worst order

You're kidding, right? Anything that tries to explain God by hate and threats knows nothing about Christianity. Try using Jesus' teachings of Love and Grace instead. Teach and correct, don't scare and intimidate.

God Bless.

It's despicable child abuse, and if you don't think so, you've got to be insane.

"For some reason if you teach children anything about God or Jesus some believe you are brainwashing them."

WRONG. Have you actually seen the film "Jesus Camp"? If you can look at that and tell me that it doesn't chill you to your marrow, then I have to think there's not much we're going to agree on in life. It's WAY beyond just "teaching your kids about Jesus." It is the Christian version of Al Qaida.

Oh, and guess who was prominently featured in the film? Here's a hint: a couple months later his habit of snorting crystal meth off the butts of gay hookers became public knowledge.

The whole thing is absolutely SICK. Anybody who thinks of himself as "Christian" ought to be offended the most, that such degenerate psychopaths as these are speaking on behalf of his religion in this way.

It's a camp that radical extreme fundamentalist send their children to for training - sort of like an Evangelical version of a Jihad training camp.

because the practices and the teachings and the methods used to teach were nearly identical to the those used in Hitler Youth...

that wasn't a joke- I'm 100% serious.

i think it is abusive to take children who are so prone to belief in anything and to speak tongues at them, to scare them into submission, to bring god to them in such a frightful and horrific manner, to make children feel naturally dirty, sinful, and small, to teach politics alongside of religion, to tell them that knowledge of secular affairs is a "stumbling block," the notion that they are really going to hell if they misbehave, to turn against their parents if their parents are not "on fire" enough.
because there are no religious children, they are made that way by people who want to maintain a base to control.

Because the kids are clearly brainwashed. They are in hyper-emotional states. They are being taught that thinking is bad and whipping oneself into an emotional frenzy is good. Among many, many other bad things.

Putting this kind of guilt on children is BAD. ("Your unsaved friends are going to burrrrrn forever.") Seeing children in this kind of state saddens many people who love kids.
