Shipping fruits from South America to Europe (for example) takes probably over a week. how are the fruits kept fresh during shipping?
Are they injected with some chemicals? are they frozen? are they picked while they are green?

Carbon Dioxide.... they are stored in warehouses and shipped in trucks that are filled w/ CO2.
