No, we should just admit that it is just a book of fables and go on with our lives.

The bible is both racist and sexist.
In Genesis: Sodom and Gomorrah - you have 2 strangers going into town and a mob wants to rape them, so Lot tries to give them his two already engaged, virgin daughters to do what they want with them. After the towns burn down the daughters get their father drunk, have incest with him, get pregnant and so begins the Moabites and Ammonites.
In Leviticus: If a woman bears a male child she shall be ceremonially unclean for 7 days, if she bears a female child she will be unclean for 66 days.
There are dozens of examples in the bible. The very fact that the Jewish people are the self-proclaimed God's chosen excludes all other races, even Christians.
If you want a completely different in site to the bible read a book from the retired Anglican Bishop John Shelby Spong "The Sins of Scripture". It will open some eyes. So my point is man made the bible, even the New Testament, not God.

I agree with the first poster. Since God didn't write it in the beginning, how can God re-write it? As long as flawed human beings are in charge of writing things, there will always be inaccuracies and untruths to fit whatever agenda the person composing it has. So I say take it for what its worth, a book, good points, bad points, but a book nonetheless.

God didn't write the bible to begin with.
The Bible was written by men for men about God. Most of the stories and gospels where oral for a very long time and if you've ever played telephone you know how that goes. The basis of the story doesn't change, but its not word for word from God. People make mistakes. It was never meant to be the center of the religion either. It was a means of centralizing the religion.

Well, out of the 5,000 Greek manuscripts since antiquity, there is a 99.5% accuracy rate between all of them. Compare that to Plato or other works in ancient times, when they only have 10 manuscripts. Youch. The Bible is the most accurate text in the ancient world.

I am a ;Jew taught to reject the new testament and Jesus too as lies
Now Jesus is my best friend and savior-I have read the bible 11 times and have yet to find one contradiction and history over and over with archeology have proven the bible perfectly true & the dead sea scrolls -in tacted the bible from the first century-proving Isaiah was written by 3 different people
he said "He will lay down his life to make atonement for our sins" chapter 53 Isaiah-where will you find your atonement-want to right or write a better bible-are you kidding or just deluded???? John 3 repent of sins and be born again with Jesus in your heart as your best friend, and the bible is his love letter to each believing heart

I'd say, lets just dig up the old scrolls, and greek texts from which it was translated, and give copies to several unbiased translators, and lets see what the bible REALLY said

If there were a god, and I don't believe there is/was, but lets say, to answer your question, that God does exist. Why does God need our permission to re-write the bible? If God could, God would........wouldn't he/she/it????
