noticed I had very dark (almost black) stool.Could swallowing blood cause this or what?

Absolutely. Black stools come from blood in your system--which is a danger sign, except you know why this happened. Also, certain foods can make your stools darker or black, particularly for me--spinach and red wine.

Yes, absolutly. By swallowing some of the blood from your nose bleed it goes into your stomache which in turn passes through your intestines and come out through your bowels. It's completely nomral. Question though, how much blood did you swallow?

Your exactly correct. When blood digested it turns stool black which is indicative of an upper GI bleed or in your case a severe nose bleed. But i would recommend that if your dark bowel movements persist you should see your family physician. Hope this helps!

i think red is okay, but if its black u may need to go to the doctor cuz sometimes that means there is internal bleeding. but ur nose bleed couldve caused that. i may be wrong though
