They're there, providing you are a legal resident or citizen. Just keep looking. The state probably has job service offices that can help you immensely. I am relieved that you are looking for a summer job in the summer, though, as summer jobs in the winter a nearly impossible to find (lol).

Travel and tourism is a great place to look for summer work. Amusement parks nearby? Great!
Check your local newspaper for the job ads - seasonal positions are often listed there.
Want to travel? Check online - http://www.coolworks.com has a lot of neat seasonal jobs.
