My cat has worms, they look like little pieces of rice, we have had her treated twice but the worms are still there, can she give these to my baby? The baby is constantly digging at his little butt and I read that worms will make you very ithchy there, he is going to doctor today, so should I make this connection?

I would certainly tell the doctor. You get worms from contact with fecal matter. You touch the fecal matter, then put your hands in your mouth. If the baby is touching the cat, the cat certainly licks it's but. I would think it possible. However, you do not get pinworms from pets. If that is the case, you have some work ahead of you. You'll need to wash all your bedding and toys, clean your sofa and furniture. Put the litterbox outside. You'll probably want a stool sample to give the dr. Put some plastic wwrap in her/his diaper then just wrap it up after. It needs to be room temp to be tested.

It could be a pin worm or tape worm. Espically if the eggs look like rice balls. Worms are easily transferable from animals to humans, in fact that's how humans usally get them, from uncooked meet, or walking around barefoot and step on animal crap.

Chances are your baby has worms. You can do the old test where you put some scotch tape on your baby's anus at night. When the worms come out they'll get stuck to it and you'll be able to see them when you pull it off (gross I know but it works) you can take your baby to a doctor and they'll prescribe a de-wormer.
