No, but I would LOVE to see that happen!
Actually, thanks! I'm going to add this to my list of things to do in life. This one will be so much more fun than the running the marathon one!

No. It was a tradition created a long, long time ago but practically no one does it anymore. Nowadays, anyone who objects to the wedding speaks privately the bride, groom, or priest; which would have been the better solution in the first place, don't you think?

This was a common dream I had for weeks before my husband and I got married. I have never seen it happen, but I do understand where you are coming from. My cousin relieved my fears by saying I will stand at the back of the church and if anyone even attempts to rise I will thunk them on the head. I felt calmer, and she was the first person I passed because she was standing at the back of the church with a wink and a grin, and even shook her fist at me as I passed and all my fears were relieved because there was not doubt Jules would knock them out for me......There were not even any attempts.....I actually have never heard of this happening in reality, only Hollywood.....I will be watching your question cause I am just as curious...
Peace.

Yeah I have been to a number of weddings because i photograph at them and i have only been at one wedding were that has happened. It was the mother of the groom who objected because she disliked the bride a lot. Also a lot of weddings have cut the whole objection thing out of their weddings. Hope this helps! Congrats on the wedding

I was at a wedding wehere the groom was asked if he took the bride, the brides dad and buddies stood up and ****** their shot guns. Was very comical the way it was done, but don't think anyone ever protests a wedding.

It wasn't objected to, but my marriage was interrupted in the Sheboygan's justice of the peace office. We had applied for the license and waited the proper time and then in the midst of the vows, the clerk came in to tell us that my dissolution papers from Ohio had not been signed by the judge. We had to postpone the vows for two weeks until that was taken care of.
So glad we didn't go for a full-out fancy ceremony.

I have been to quite a few weddings and that has never happened.....I think that it is something that happens in the Movies and TV and very rarely if at all in real life.

Great question! I have been to about a dozen weddings, and have never seen it. I do know someone who bolted the day of the wedding, though.
