Your opinion, please?
A recent poll indicates that about 90% of senior citizens in a certain town believe in evolution and not special Creation or Intelligent Design. How do you interpret this?

a) The senior citizens are old and jaded; they have had plenty of time to be disillusioned and hateful of God.

b) Great! Shame it wasn't 100%.

b.

Neither.

Not A because I do not think of my elder's as old and jaded or any less capable of absorbing truth than a young person. Age has nothing to do with belief.

Not B because the real shame is they are decieved by a theory that has not nor will ever be proven. There are no missing links in any theorized evolution. The evidence is, at best, inconclusive.

It would be C. They believe what they believe because they believe it.

Your poll is too simplistic...many believe in creation **through** evolution. Evolution and I.D. are not necessarily mutually exclusive. So while I'm sure some people fit into your "a)", many others probably just believe that the Biblical 7 days were several million years.

Funny. Someone just asked earlier whether or not any of us hated it when you provide two answers, and people answer "neither." Well, if both answers are wrong, then what do you do?

The answer here is neither. Simply put: one can (I know I do!) believe in God AND believe in evolution. The fact is that old people are often quite wise and experienced. Many of them probably believe in evolution based on the evidence AND still believe in God. You can have it both ways, and these people likely do.

Little of A, all of B.

They are old, but not necessarily jaded. At that age, there are more important things than evolution debates -- get out, live life, and don't die with regrets.
