Revelation 7 says clearly that 144,000 people will go to heaven. It lists 12 tribes from Israel, and says that from each of these tribes 12,000 will be saved.

Has this passage to be interpreted differentlly or is it true that no Christian from America or other countries will go to heaven?

This is a challenging question and an important one for anyone wishing to know the whole truth of God to explore fully.

It will take more space than what is available here and more time than I have to answer your question completely. It will also take a great deal of time for you to study and understand these things. I will give you a partial answer and encourage you to go to the links in the source section and prayerfully study the evidence presented on those sites.

Please keep in mind that I am a pretty skeptical person, and when I first heard the answers to some of your questions I rejected them out of hand. It took me about
6 months of intensive study to prove for myself these things were true.

First, please compare the list of the Israelite tribes in Revelations 7 and the one in Genesis 49. They are not the same. Why?
Who is missing from the list in Revelations?
Why are they missing and where are they today?

The only tribes in the Holy Land in the time of Yashua and the Apostles were Judah (Yashua was a Jew), Benjamin (Paul was from Benjamin Romans 11:1, Phillipians 3:5), and Levi (The priests).
The rest of the tribes of Israel had been taken into captivity hundreds of years before and had seemingly disappeared from the annuals of history. Or did they? Do they still exist today? If so, who are they?

Don't you find It interesting that the greatest nation the world has ever known, the United States of America, is seemingly not mentioned in the Bible. Or is it? If it is, who are we?

Also, please re-read Revelations 7, it says nothing about the144,000 going to heaven. It is showing that they will be protected from
the wrath of God here on Earth
( Read Revelations 12). In addition to the 144,000, Revelations 7 also shows a great multitude that cannot be numbered who are "saved". Who are they?

It is extremely important as we draw ever closer to the end of this age for us to open our minds and hearts to God's truth.

Some of these sites offer free literature that you could order and study at your own pace.

May the Eternal One lead and guide you.

Edit: Babyruth; the answer is simple. the verse means exactly what is says not what some "666" specialist thinks it does (by the way the mark of the Beast is sunday worship, and is hardly a mark of America). I have read a lot of stuff over the years and the information on the sites i posted makes the most sense biblically, historically, and prophetically. Maybe you should study them? I am not a rocket scientist, just a simple carpenter who studies hard to prove the truth of the Bible.

I am puzzled as to why people get so hung up on the 144,000. They are not the only people saved. There are many Israelis who accept Yeshua as Meshiach, and there will be many more. The 144,000 were sealed by God for one specific purpose, to fulfill their destiny to bring the light of the Gospel to the gentiles. This they will do during the tribulation period.

This special work does not get them in to heaven. It is believing in Meshiach for the remission of sins that gets you in. And there are thousands today that do.

Unlike Lone Ranger's answer, I think the answer is fairly simple and straight forward, and doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out--just the right source.

I found the answer in the book "666, Mark of America." Here's what it says:

"The people who accept the prophets’ message are those who are symbolically represented as receiving the “seal of God in their foreheads”;or in other words, their intentions and thoughts are turned toward God. If one multiplies the efforts of the prophets (represented by thenumber 24) by the number of years of human existence (6000) leading up to the Millennium, the equation produces the product given by John in Revelation 7:4: 144,000."

"Because God is no respecter of persons and has not chosen any one group of people over another, John presents those who accept the gospel of Christ by receiving the “seal of the Father in their foreheads” as an equal number of each particular tribe of Israel. Many of the Jews in John’s time used their family’s ancestry as a way of putting themselves above others. For example, there were groups from the tribe of Judah and Levi who thought themselves more worthy and chosen than those whose ancestry linked them to the tribe of Rueben, or the tribe of Simeon. Even in modern times, reli-gious groups set themselves above others by claiming lines of ancestry either directly or through adoption to one group of the sons of Israel or another. This mentality, and the obsession of one’s genealogy, are contrary to the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which one’s lineage means absolutely nothing. John exemplifies this in his narration by presenting all tribes as equal in relation to the righteous people of the world."

So, it seems to me that the equal number from each tribe just shows the attitude of absolute equality God has towards all mankind; and shows that He is not a respecter of persons in bringing the truth to all peoples of the earth who “elect” to follow His guidance and commandments.

All of Revelations is interpreted into about 5000 different ideas. Most of us are going to heaven sooner or later.

Matthew 22:31-33 (NASB) "But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God: 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at His teaching. I don't know if the ancient Israelites believed they could go to heaven, but... By the time of Jesus, majority of the Jews believed in soul sleep. That is why they were astonished at Jesus' teachings. Jesus reveals that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are in heaven.

The etymology of the word helps to understand its original meaning. From L. Israel, from Gk., from Heb. yisra'el "he that striveth with God" (Gen. xxxii.28) That could apply to lots of people world-wide.
