Sri Caitanya Charitamrita, Madhya-lila,Chapter 15, verse 107
eka krishna-name kare sarva-papa kshaya
nava-vidha bhakti purna nama haite haya
"Simply by chanting the holy name of Krishna once, a person is relieved from all the reactions of a sinful life. One can complete the nine processes of devotional service simply by chanting the holy name.
Purport by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)
The nine types of devotional service are mentioned in Srimad-Bhagavatam (7.5.23):
sravanam kirtanam vishnoh smaranam pada-sevanam
arcanam vandanam dasyam sakhyam atma-nivedanam
iti pumsarpita vishnau bhaktis cen nava-lakshana
kriyeta bhagavaty addha tan manye 'dhitam uttamam
"The process of devotional service entails hearing, chanting and remembering the holy name, form, pastimes, qualities and entourage of the Lord, offering service according to the time, place and performer, worshiping the Deity, offering prayers, always considering oneself the eternal servant of Krishna, making friends with Him and dedicating everything unto Him. These nine items of devotional service, when directly offered to Krishna, constitute the highest attainment of life. This is the verdict of the revealed scriptures."
As for being freed from all sinful reactions by chanting the holy name of Krishna only once, one must chant the holy name without committing any offenses. Then chanting one name is sufficient to rescue a living being from all sinful reactions. Such a person who chants the holy name of the Lord offenselessly is very important and woshipable. Indeed, the nine devotional processes, beginning with sravana and kirtana, can all be attained at once if one simply chants the holy name of the Lord offenselessly.
In this regard, Srila Jiva Gosvami states in his book Bhakti-sandarbha (173): yadyapi anya bhaktih kalau kartavya, tada; kirtanakhya-bhakti-samyogenaiva. Out of the nine processes of devotional service, kirtana is very important. Srila Jiva Gosvami therefore instructs that the other processes, such as arcana, vandana, dasya and sakhya, should be executed, but they must be preceded and followed by kirtana, the chanting of the holy name. We have therefore introduced this system in all of our centers. Arcana, arati, bhoga offering, Deity dressing and decoration are all preceded and followed by the chanting of the holy name of the Lord -- Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

NavaVidhaBhakthi refers to the 9 forms of devotion u can show to God. they are
1. Shravanam - Hearing about the Lords Glory - easiest form of Bhakthi - Shown by Parikshith Maharaj in SriMadhBagavadam.
2. Keerthanam - Saying about the Lords glories to others - Shown by Sukha Bramha Maharishi who told Bagavadam to Parikshith.
3. Archanam - Doing poojas and Archanas to the Lord by offering him things like flowers leaves water and food, with chanting of his name. - Performed by many like Ambareesha in SrimadhBagavadam.
4. Smaranam - Chanting the name of the Lord with devotion - Prahalladha did that.
5. Padhasevanam - Worshiping the feet of the Lord by cleaning His feet and making offerings at his Feet. - Many Maharishis did that including Mrukandu, father of the great sage Markandeya.
6. Vandhanam - Giving your obseiance o the Lord, by doing things like Prostreating before him and praying to him. - Persons like Vibeeshana from the Ramayana did this.
7. Dasyam - Become a Servant of the Lord. - This form of Great Bhakthi can be seen with the Gopika stris in Gokulam in Bagavadam.
8. Sakyam - Act like a friend of the Lord. This can be seen from Arjunas Devotion in the Mahabharatha.
9. Aathmanivedanam - This is the last form and the most difficult one - Giving yourself to the Lord. - Hanumanji shows this form of Bakthi.
The above are the 9 forms of Bhakthi a person can show towards the Lord. But the most important thing is, u should be selfless and motiveless while showing these forms of Bhakthis.
there is nothing like a mahamanthra which can help you show these forms of Bhakthi. The more important thing is that when you show one form of Devotion, you cannot show the other. It can also be seen that the difficulty level of each form of Bhakthis increases with the number. It is easy to do Shravanam but is greatly difficult to do Aathmanivedhanam.
It is also said that in KaliYuga (This Age) you can satisfy the Lord with Shravanam and Keerthanam itself. U can also see that Shravanam and Keerthanam should be performed by 2 different persons and thus can co - exist. You can do all forms of the Bhakthi Induvidually, but that will happen only after u reach the stage of Aathmanivedhanam when U would be the closest to God. You can hardly find a person who has reached the stage of Aathmanivedhanam.
Best is, u just hear the glory of God, read about him and Speak about him. Be selfless. That would do. It is said that Bhakthi Jyana and Vairagya are the easiest and the Best means to Reach the adobe of the Lord.

navda bhakti refers to the nine forms of Bhakti. lord Rama says: "navda bhakti mam anuragha" it means "i am fond of the nine types of Bhakti". i think chanting the name leads to the practice of other forms of bhakti naturally so yes chanting mahamantra ie hare Rama Hare Krishna... satisfies all forms of bhakti naturally.for eg by chanting the mahamantra u develop affection for God and thus start relishing and looking for the company of devotees or saints(satsanga-first type of Bhakti).similarly it also leads to affection for other kinds of Bhakti's such as hearing God's pastimes.

BHAKTI is the Sanskrit term that signifies a blissful, selfless and overwhelming love of God as the beloved Father, Mother, Child, Friend or whichever relationship or personal aspect of God that finds appeal in the devotee's heart. Bhakti incorporates a number of universal principles, also common in other world religions.
The 'Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu' (written by Rupa Gosvami) gives the following as the NINE primary activities of BHAKTI, with the instruction that by following all, or just one, of these activities perfectly the aspiring devotee can achieve pure love of God:
1. Hearing about the Lord - singing & chanting God's names (japa), hearing stories from scripture.
2. Glorifying the Lord - describing God's all-attractive features.
3. Remembering the Lord - internal meditation on the Lord's form, activities, names or personality.
4. Serving the lotus feet of the Lord - providing a form of physical service.
5. Worshiping the Lord - deity worship (puja) is a popular form of this within India.
6. Offering prayers to the Lord - any form of prayer offered to please God.
7. Serving the Lord - offering a service for Lord's pleasure, such as preaching activity.
8. Building a friendship with the Lord - having an internal, loving relationship with God.
9. Surrendering everything unto the Lord - surrendering one's thoughts, actions and deeds to God.
The scriptural source of these nine primary forms of bhakti is a verse in the Bhagavata Purana, spoken by Prahlada:
"Prahlāda Mahārāja said: Hearing and chanting about the transcendental holy name, form, qualities, paraphernalia and pastimes of Lord Viṣṇu, remembering them, serving the lotus feet of the Lord, offering the Lord respectful worship with sixteen types of paraphernalia, offering prayers to the Lord, becoming His servant, considering the Lord one's best friend, and surrendering everything unto Him (in other words, serving Him with the body, mind and words) — these nine processes are accepted as pure devotional service. One who has dedicated his life to the service of Kṛṣṇa through these nine methods should be understood to be the most learned person, for he has acquired complete knowledge."
These nine principles of devotional service are described as helping the devotee remain constantly in touch with God. The processes of japa and internal meditation on the aspirant devotees's chosen deity form (ishta deva) are especially popular in most bhakti schools. Bhakti is a yoga path, in that its aim is a form of divine, loving union with the Supreme Lord. The exact form of the Lord, or type of union varies between the different schools, but the essence of each process is very similar.-

haven't you seen the fraud pilot babas , vedanti maharajas on the news channel? if you chant those maha mantras you are sure to land up in tihar jail unless you have a swiss bank account or black money in nationalised banks' lockers( protected by commandoes at the cost of the tax payers' money) or have enough e-account in some of the most e-religious places of worships ( some of them frequently visited by BIG Bs, small page 3s ( donating 10 crores in return of tax rebates indirectly).
