I am 30 and talking to my Doctor more than Doctor patient.. romantically .. We don't go out but I talk to him a lot on the phone and wth text messages. His name is Dr. his last name.. his nurses call him Doc.. I always called him Dr. his first name. Now how do I address him? It feels wierd to call him anything else.. If we dated though, how would this work? Thanks.. It is kind of like a person going from a nickname to their real name. His friends from past jobs called him Doc..

Thanks

Ask him, of course, for a preference. But generally, most folks I know with a title only need their title referred to when they are fulfilling that capacity, or in a public setting, like being quoted in a newspaper.

as long as you are no longer his patient why not his first name ---- and if you are still his patient dont let it go any further as it could be very dangerous for him ethically
