Whose prayers is God willing to hear?

Ps. 65:2; Acts 10:34, 35: “O Hearer of prayer, even to you people of all flesh will come.” “God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.” (One’s nationality, the color of one’s skin, or one’s economic circumstances have no bearing on the matter. But the motivations of one’s heart and one’s way of life do.)

Luke 11:2: “Whenever you pray, say, ‘Father, let your name be sanctified.’” (Are your prayers addressed to the Father, the one whose name the Bible says is Jehovah? Or, instead, do you address your prayers to “saints”?)

John 14:6, 14: “Jesus said to him: ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.’” (Do you pray in the name of Jesus Christ, recognizing that as a sinful human you need his intercession on your behalf?)

1 John 5:14: “This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us.” (To have such confidence, however, you must first know God’s will. Then be sure that your requests are in harmony with it.)

1 Pet. 3:12: “The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous ones, and his ears are toward their supplication; but the face of Jehovah is against those doing bad things.” (Have you taken time to learn what Jehovah says through his Word as to what is righteous and what is bad?)

1 John 3:22: “Whatever we ask we receive from him, because we are observing his commandments and are doing the things that are pleasing in his eyes.” (Is it truly your desire to be pleasing to God, and are you earnestly endeavoring to obey those of his commandments that you already know?)

Isa. 55:6, 7: “Search for Jehovah, you people, while he may be found. Call to him while he proves to be near. Let the wicked man leave his way, and the harmful man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, who will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for he will forgive in a large way.” (Mercifully, Jehovah invites even persons who have done bad things to call to him in prayer. But, to have God’s approval, they must sincerely repent of their wrong ways and thoughts and change their course.)

What could make a person’s prayers unacceptable to God?

Matt. 6:5: “When you pray, you must not be as the hypocrites; because they like to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the broad ways to be visible to men. Truly I say to you, They are having their reward in full.” (Also Luke 18:9-14)

Matt. 6:7: “When praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words.”

Prov. 28:9: “He that is turning his ear away from hearing the law [of God]—even his prayer is something detestable.”

Mic. 3:4: “At that time they will call to Jehovah for aid, but he will not answer them. And he will conceal his face from them in that time, according as they committed badness in their dealings.”

Jas. 4:3: “You do ask, and yet you do not receive, because you are asking for a wrong purpose, that you may expend it upon your cravings for sensual pleasure.”

Isa. 42:8, Dy; Matt. 4:10, JB: “I, the Lord [“Yahweh,” JB; “Jehovah,” NW]: this is my name. I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to graven things.” “You must worship the Lord your God [“Jehovah your God,” NW], and serve him alone.” (Also Psalm 115:4-8, or 113:4-8 second set of numbers in Dy) (Prayer is a form of worship. If you pray before graven things, or images, is that going to please God?)

Isa. 8:19: “In case they should say to you people: ‘Apply to the spiritistic mediums or to those having a spirit of prediction who are chirping and making utterances in low tones,’ is it not to its God that any people should apply? Should there be application to dead persons in behalf of living persons?”

Jas. 1:6, 7: “Let him keep on asking in faith, not doubting at all, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. In fact, let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from Jehovah.”

Talk to God the way you would talk to a real friend.

Tell him how you feel about things and that you believe he is real and in control.

Tell him that you need him (JESUS) as your Lord and Savior.

Ask him to forgive your sins, admit your sins to him and turn from them.

Ask him to supply all your needs and trust him to do so.

Love him and be patient and wait on him to speak to you through the spirit.

Study his Word (The Bible).

Continue to seek out a good Church and ask God to help you to find one.

Don't confuse religion with a personal relationship with the Lord. The relationship is what counts. I am not saying you don't need the Church but Jesus is first.

I recommend a newer translation of the Bible like NIV or New King James and I recommend a purpose drive style of church. They care more about the people than putting on a nice face for others.

I wish I could help more. I will pray for you and look for any more questions.

God Bless.

i don't recognize who's telling you this yet they're regrettably improper. you're maximum in no way a sinner on account which you do no longer pass to church and much greater so anybody in this green earth is a sinner. if what they're telling you is real then i assume he does not hear to anybodies prayers. Now how stupid does that sound. and if the those that pass to this church are telling you this then you certainly quite shouldn't pass to it. they're telling you lies and are thoroughly twisting the entire concept of the Christian faith. I advise in keeping with probability that's meant to be which you stopped going to that church because of the fact God protects us in any respect expenditures and purely in keeping with probability he observed what what they have been coaching you and did no longer elect you to be an ingredient of that. please don't be down approximately all of this because of the fact God is often listening to us and in no way will give up listening. i'm so sorry that somebody led you to have faith which you're no longer welcomed in God's innovations. i quite experience for you and desire which you will triumph over this undesirable feeling that your having. constantly bear in innovations that God loves you no rely what!

In reality, God doesn't care if you go to church or even if you read the Bible. What he/she/it is really concerned about is the person you are inside.
Church going is strictly a human occupation, started by those who all believed the same and desired to collect together and interact. If you find comfort in going to church, then by all means, do so. But don't feel guilty if you don't.

I hope you find a church that preaches the word of God. God does want us to be in church or he would have never set up churches. Read your bible, pray always, and witness to the lost.

Oh I do not doubt that God hears every prayer but wether He answers in the way we demand is another question.
I think that you are beginning a wonderful journey that hopefully will bring you into a fuller relationship with the God Who loves you,but proceed at your own pace and always keep in dialog with God.

God hears the prayers of those that are His. If you have accept Christ into your heart, He definately hears your prayers. You don't need church for Him to hear you. When Jesus died, the barrier between us and God was broken. We can come to Him anytime, anywhere and He is faithful to listen. I know He does personally.

Yes. I've been where you are. God is with us ALL of the time - we do not have to be in a church service to experience His presence. Going to church is good because you are surrounding yourself with other believers, but if you are diligently seeking God, He will lead you to a church in HIS timing. He did it for me. It's not about your comfort or even about obeying a bunch of legalistic "Christian" rules. It's about following HIS will for your life. Spend time with God by reading His word or listening to sermons on the radio. (Charles Swindoll and Charles Stanley are very good!) See if your library has recordings / dvds of Mark Lowry, Chonda Pierce, or even Joyce Meyer - they are HILARIOUS! Keep praying for your child. God hears you.

I went through a three year period where I believe God actually kept me OUT of church because there was something He was trying to get through to me - and He used Joyce Meyer teachings to do it. During that three year period, I learned that I needed to have a RELATIONSHIP with God and I learned how to develop one. God has blessed my life SO MUCH since then, and I actually hear from Him regularly now because I SEEK Him diligently. Like Paul, I have learned to be content regardless of my circumstances. I understand what it means to walk in love now, and with each trial I face, I become more spiritually mature because I have learned to put my faith in GOD to see me through, and not in my own abilities.

Keep praying and keep the faith. Where the will of God leads you, the grace of God will keep you.

God answers all prayers. Start with asking Him what church you should join. He will lead you to the right one.
