I only have 4500 miles on my 2006 Azera Limited with Ultimate package so far, so I have no maintenance or problems to report. The Azera was released to market in May 2006, so there is no long term problems available. However Hyundai was rated #3 and #7 by JD Power and Consumer Reports for quality and reliability so the long term looks good. I love the car, alot nicer then my 2000 Nissan Maxima. I have many pro's, I love the large interior and sophisticated exterior, the powerful 3.8L V6, the supple leather and high-end Infiniti soundsystem. I also like the fact that the car is very safe with ESC and front/side/rear airbags with active head restraint. The climate control system is really great and the car handles really well with no noise. My only complaint is that the moonroof is positioned too far back even for a 6ft person to really enjoy it. You also cannot beat the price, more then $5000 below a Maxima and almost $10K below a G35/TL/330i/I250 or any other entry level luxury sedan you can think of only with more room inside. Gas mileage is as expected, I average 21 doing a mix of city/highway driving.

It's true that Hyundais don't have a solid reputation as some Japanese cars. But they have come a long way. I remember back when auto journalists would make fun of them all the time. But theses days, the auto experts actually think Hyundais are a serious threat to Japanese.
Sonata and Azera are good example of Hyundai's rapid transformation. These are well made cars. Good value. 3.8 V6 with leather under $30,000? That is a pretty damn good deal. Remember, the Azeras sell for $45,000 - $50,000 in their Korean domestic market. (it's called 'Grandeur' over there).
People wouldn't pay that amount of money if it was a POS would they? If you inspect the car closely, you'll see it's way better built than some Mazda, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, and even Nissans.
Public's impression on Hyundais are still shady. But honestly, you are not really going to impress anyone with any car that costs under, say $200,000 anyway...
If it feels right for you, that's all it matters. Give them a chance. You'll know you've made a smart choice.

yes, depending on the vehicle, you can gain a bit with it off. Better yet to drive between 55 and 59 MPH. This is the range most vehicles get their best mileage. Anything over that and mileage decreases exponentially lower than speed gained. Tire inflation is very important. I had my exhaust system totally redone. This time using the same diameter pipe from the manifold throughout to the tail pipe end. This kicked me up over 3 miles a gallon. Manufacturers reduce the pipes diameter for cost savings on trucks which is what I have. New plugs and plug wires also helped. My truck went from 10.5 MPG to between 15.5 to 16 MPG with the simple changes made. Also, a K&N air filter increased mileage almost .5 MPG.

I own a 2006 Azera limited, purchased October of 2006.
This car has 7000 miles and has been a nightmare for me so far.
Radio volume will max out on it's own, drivers seat makes a loud clicking noise, and sometimes can not turn key on.
Car has been in shop 7 times for the radio problem and is currently in shop for the same problem.
The ride is very rough and noisy. 2007 will ride much better as i've had a loaner. Car is equiped with Michelin tires and they are not a good ride, Bridgestones would be better. Gas mileage is listed at 28 highway but it doesn't do that well.
If i could start over i would buy a Buick or Toyota Avalon.
For good points the car is a blast to drive.

The Azera is an Edmunds.com, Editors "Most Wanted" and enjoys a consumer rating of 9.5 of 9.5 on a scale of ten based on 35 ratings.
EPA estimates 19 mpg/28mpg.
Fit and finish are excellent. A gas to drive, great balance of performance and comfort.

Nope never have and never will. I like Japanese cars, I don't like Korean cars. There's a difference.
