Every time I eat sugary stuff my teeth hurt. Is there a reason for this?

How old are you? If you are older and have exposed roots, this can cause the sensitivity. If you are younger and have this problem, it is probably due to cavities although it also can be caused by exposed roots. A sensitivity toothpaste is only for exposed roots and not for cavities. It may even cover up cavities so my advice to you is to see a dentist ASAP to be evaluated.

Your teeth are sensitive to sweets, which could be a good thing. :)
