It's fine, if you want to be sure check with her doctor. My son and I walked 5 miles every day last summer. And children can work out with weights too just smaller weights. Three pound weights don't hurt them. I talked to the doctor about that too. I'm just saying that because someone else said that it's wrong to do that. It's not, it's just wrong to over do it. If your daughter enjoys it you should do it. I learned so much about my son when we took our walks last summer. We live in the desert so we had to be up at 5 am and he never once complained! We had to walk early because by 9 am it's already well over 100 degrees.

Enjoy this time with your daugther while you can.

I have a six year old that loves to go out for a jog with me. What I do it make sure she stretches before hand and after also. She is prone to night leg cramps and this helps. I keep the pace slow and we don't push. I will alternate jogging and fast walking. We really enjoy it. It gives us time together and it makes my day when she comes up to me and asks "Mommy, can we go jogging?"

I wish my mother had encouraged me to exercise with her when I was young...I might have had skinnier thighs today! Do make sure your daughter is appropriately dressed, and that she is well hydrated or brings a drink with her. And of course, the proper running shoes are essential. Good for you, for helping her to learn healthy habits at age 7!

It sounds like a great way to spend quality time together, while being active. You may want to check with her doctor to be sure there isn't a health reason, and be sure to have her warm up and stretch prior to jogging. Have fun!

My son started in a cross-country program at the YMCA when he was about that age. As long as you don't go too fast for her, or run too long, it should be fine.

No, that would actually be nice time for you two to spend together. You don't need to overwork her though. Limit the intensity of it and enjoy your time spent with your child.

I don't think she is too young. We take our 6 year old to the track and he runs at will!! I think you'd be surprised at her talent

No. She should be fine. Just don't over do it. She just might want to do to spend more time with you.
