I'm not a good runner and i would always give up halfway through my run because i couldn't take it. My friends were like telling me that it's all in the mind and my mind was like telling me to stop.

i'm pretty puzzled. Can our minds really break our body limits?

If your running something like the mile or more you have to pace yourself and not go all out and over your limits at first. It takes much practice and recall to hold back so you can go "balls out" in the stretch and complete the course. When you find the pace that allows you to make a good time overall then you can start picking up the initial pace in increments. I believe the mind can to a limited degree allow us to break our bodies limits. It takes "will training"

Good luck, good health, peace and love!

IN PLAIN ENGLISH ITS UP TO YOU.
YOU CAN DO IT..YOUR MIND IS YOU.
YOUR MIND IS A COMPUTER.
FOCUS ON DOING IT BUT DONT STOP.
THINK OF SOMETHING U LIKE FOCUS ON THAT AND RUN IT WILL WORK.
