Not exactly sure how to answer you, especially since in your profile you list a scripture that was added to the Bible by a Catholic scribe, 1 John 5:7, so they could "prove" the unscriptural doctrine of the trinity. You should be able to find that little fact in any good study Bible.
Basically the reason the Catholic Church is used in movies dealing with "exorcism" is that they are erroneously considered the true church. In actuality, when they show a catholic exorcism they are showing Satan casting out Satan.

Before explaining the intimate historic relationship between the Vatican and Satan and his demons, it is important to make clear exactly who founded christianity.
Jesus founded the Nazarenes.
See:
http://one-faith-of-god.org/new_testament/apocrypha/nazarenes/nazarenes_0010.htm
It was Paul of Tarsus and the Sadducee High Priests who founded christianity.
http://one-faith-of-god.org/new_testament/apocrypha/founders_christianity/founders_christianity_0010.htm
The reason that the enemies of jesus founded a parasitic religion to consume the true gnostic message of Jesus is because of what the message said- that YHWH was Satan, that the Sadducee High priests were satanists, that the whole white robes and words of holiness were a brilliant cover.
Fast forward now to the Vatican and the Popes.
The history of the Vatican over 20 centuries is nothing short of pure evil. Hundreds of millions of people have died because of their actions, wars have been started, countless children abused. See the Almanac of Evil
http://one-faith-of-god.org/final_testament/end_of_darkness/evil/evil_0060.htm
So the reason that the Vatican has maintained exorcists, the reason why the Catholic Church has a strong history of command over demons, is because up until recently, Satan and his demons commanded loyalty to their principle emissary on Earth- the Pope and to the church of Satan- the Vatican.
However, since the advent of the Constitution of One Heaven and the Treaty of Lucifer, the Vatican no longer holds any satanic spiritual power. They are now an empty shell, worshipping nothing but themselves.

Because there are 1 Billion Catholics in the world so their odds are better than anyone else's
Also, I don't know if they actually are Catholics that are possessed in those movies or if they just turn to the church for help. Maybe the protestants are just living with the devil and not getting delivered??

1. The Catholic faith have exorcists there are only 6 of them. I am told and they are not called in unless every avenue of medical and psychological tests has been done.
2. In the original book the Exorcist the child possessed had never been baptized and the mother did not have any faith.
Any movies otherwise is probably a product of the writer's imagination.

When you need to cast out an authentic demon, you need authentic power and authority from God to do it.
The Catholic Church is the only church that Jesus ever personally founded, authorized, empowered, and guaranteed.
All the rest think that God's power and authority can be appropriated for themselves in some way, but when it comes down to a one-on-one with the forces of hell, there's no substitute for the real thing.
Act 19:13 Now some also of the Jewish exorcists, who went about, attempted to invoke over them that had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying: I conjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preacheth.
Act 19:14 And there were certain men, seven sons of Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, that did this.
Act 19:15 But the wicked spirit, answering, said to them: Jesus I know: and Paul I know. But who are you?
Act 19:16 And the man in whom the wicked spirit was, leaping upon them and mastering them both, prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Act 19:17 And this became known to all the Jews and the Gentiles that dwelt a Ephesus. And fear fell on them all: and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
Catholic priests and bishops are the direct successors of the apostles, and they truly possess all of God's authentic power and authority.
The sacraments and prayers of the Catholic Church also truly dispense God's grace, which has been proven to be more than sufficient to cast out Satan, himself.
In the end, it's wise to accept no substitutes, especially when one's own soul is in danger of eternal death.
Evidently, even the guys in Hollywood understand this basic fact.

Exorcism is specifically a Catholic rite. Other people may indeed cleanse the soul in one form or another, may be able to cast out demons in various ways, but the term "exorcism" is a Catholic term.

Dontcha know nuthin ?
They are saved only as far as Purgatory (or Limbo, or whatever it is called these days), and then the Priest has to get lots of tithes or money or whatever to put in all the intercessory prayers for their souls, ...then (and only then) will they get to go one way or the other.
Probaly the movies have all the Devil things in them because Catholics are the only ones dumb enough to believe all that sh**

Another bigot.
According to an estimate on the Good Morning America program for 2006-MAY-16, there are approximately 500 deliverance ministries in the U.S. specializing in exorcising people. The program indicated that exorcism is becoming a big business. Bob Larson is perhaps the most famous Protestant exorcist in the country.
Fundamentalists and other Evangelical Christians exhibit a wide range of beliefs concerning demon possession and exorcism. But most share certain basic beliefs:
Like Roman Catholics, most believe that the passages about demons in the New Testament are accurate descriptions of the power and activity of evil spirits. This belief is derived from the concept that God inspired the authors of the Bible to write text that is free of error.
Satan and his hordes of demonic followers are believed to be living entities who roam around the world looking for people to torment and destroy.
Many view Satanic forces as playing a major role in individuals' lives today. Books in Christian bookstores and programs on Christian radio and TV frequently refer to demonic influences, and warn believers to be continuously on guard.
Some Evangelical beliefs:
J.F. Cogan has written a "Demon Possession Handbook for Human Service Workser [sic]" It is a very detailed presentation of demon possession and exorcism. The handbook is intended to acquaint case workers, church workers, correction officers and 22 other professions with what the author feels is the reality of demon possession. 1 He comments: "...Satan and his demons have real power. Within the limits God has set, Satan and his demons can do real spiritual damage to humans who are not filled by and, therefore, protected by the power of the Holy Spirit." Later, he writes: "...the objective of Satan and his demons is damnation of the souls of all humans in Hell forever...Satan's main offense consists of getting as many people as possible to reject the salvation of Jesus Christ and be damned to the punishment of hell forever." He cites a number of behaviors and activities that are commonly caused by demon possession today: "...all serial killers and serial arsonists are demon possessed."
Intermittent demon possession is a cause of spousal abuse.
"Suicide is frequently associated with demon possession."
"When two people are both demon possessed, they may have a lustful affinity for each other which defies all logic...Often, demon-induced lust leads to murder..."
Irrational shoplifting.
Childhood learning disabilities and behavioral problems.
Various physical illnesses.
Mental illnesses such as schizophrenia.
Post-hypnotic suggestion.
The possession of houses as well as humans; a haunted house many be a "nesting place" of evil spirits.
Certain games can lead to demonic involvement: Ouija boards, dungeons and dragons and other role playing games, games involving dragons, etc.
Multiple Personality Disorder (a.k.a. Dissociative Identity Disorder)
False memories can be implanted by demons in the mind of a person undergoing recovered memory therapy.
Spontaneous human combustion
Foul and abusive language in a voice that is different from the victim's normal voice
Roman Catholic beliefs and practices about exorcism:
On 1999-JAN-26, Cardinal Jorge Arturo Medina, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, introduced an updated exorcism ritual for the church. 3 The previous major update had been issued as the Rituale Romanum during the reign of Pope Paul V in 1614 CE. The new ritual is described in a 84 page, bound in a red leather book. The ritual was originally available only in Latin; it will be translated into other languages. The exorcism ritual includes: "prayers, the blessing and sprinkling of holy water, the laying of hands on the possessed and making the sign of the cross, appeals to Christ, the Holy Spirit and the saints of the church." 4 Next comes the imploring formula: the evils of Satan are listed and God is asked to free the victim from possession. Next comes the imperative formula in which the priest orders the devil to leave the person. It concludes with "Therefore, go back Satan."
The Vatican guidelines stress that most behaviors that appear to be caused by demonic possession are actually triggered by psychiatric illness. 5 Monsignor Corrado Balducci, the Vatican's chief exorcist, estimated that only five or six out of every thousand people who seek help from an exorcist are really possessed by evil spirits. The remainder are "in need of psychiatric help."
