You can always find sites on any topic, it is up to you to choose an authentic site to enlighten yourselves. I would suggest you to read his book 'my experiments with truth' where he laid everything bare, including his week moments also. He has also mentioned about his belief in his practices accepting that some of them may not appear logical. So, now things can also be picked up from such an honest book and quoted on some site out of context.
For Mahatma Gandhi it would have been easier to become a castist rather than a racist, but he chose to fight with castism in his own inimitable way and that was by started cleaning his own toilet. Remember these were not those flush toilets, where you just use a brush, it was real hard cleaning. He always believed in the purity of means more than the achievement of results. Such a man can be racist - well impossible.
Deazone, I am not trying to defend Mahatma Gandhi, he does not need it, he is very much above all these, but why I am replying to this question is that in the recent human history, there were only a few such gentle and humanistic light houses like Gandhi and we need to be guided to those to keep this world a habitable place. Please read authentic material about Gandhi and make your own judgment, please do not give in to viciously motivated hate sites.

>All through his life he was tirelssely arguing about the upliftment of Lower caste people and He Coined the word "Harijan"=People of God--for the underprevilleged, the term which replaced all other terms derogatory of lowest people-even sri.Gandhi's enemies started using it.At his instance sir.C.P.Ramaswamy iyer ,Diwan( minister) of Trivandrum arranged for the first time the entry of Harijans into the temples and Madurai Vaithyanaatha iyer,a staunch follwer of Mahathma Gandhi organisedsuccessfully, at the threat of his life, for the entry of Harijans in Madurai temple.sri.Gandhi was announcing all his political, social and economical views in a weekly magazine called "Harijan".There so many vested interests against sri.Gandhi and they all join to pass derogatory remarks against him.mr.Martin Luther King and mr.Nelson Mandela chose his path RIGHTLY after deep thinking and with absolute conviction. It is absolutely rediculous to call sri Gandhi as racist and it is an un-adultrated LIE,propagated by vested interests.

Do you want to be famous, get noticed? Just criticise Mahatama Gandhi, Jesus Christ or Gautam Buddha. A short cut used by many people who have no morals and are lilyputs by virtues. They simply find themselves too small in front of these Great People. So they talk all kinds of non - sense. There is a sick bunch of people who talk about the killer Godse with respect and Gandhiji with disrespect. May God give them better sense. Calling Gandhiji a racist only shows a sick mentality.

He probably was, to an extent at at the very least, sadly. @MissUniverse, I agree with you, but he was probably fighting for the freedom of Indians exclusively *mainly because he was living mostly in India and that was what relevant to him more than what was happening in America. (In fact I don't think he ever even visited America.) But I also wouldn't be surprised if he was a racist, to be honest. Sad.

No . Gandhi was not a racist. Be sure of that. If you still doubt read his books. People do talk silly things of great people. Here in India he was known as Mahatma ( great soul). He once said that if I speak out Gods name when I die them consider me Mahatma. His last words were when he was shot was HE RAM.

Gandhi used a lot of racist rhetoric in his life.
He also loved to talk about bowel movements with his female assistants, and slept with teen age girls in his 60's and 70's.
So, take it all for what it's worth.

that doesn't mean anything.
If you put in the letter a in google, you get over a billion results. It just means that people used the letter a in their website. All those two words mean is that they either used both of the words, or just one of the words.

I googled with 'linkoln racist' and got 1,060,000 results. Now tell me if Lincoln who fought against racism was racist.
It is people's habit to defame others.
