Your child, brother, sister or whoever could/would NOT come to you because they knew you do not/will not accept their homosexuality and they knew your reply to them would be, " pray to God he will show you the way" or "I will pray that you will find the 'straight/right path" or any other answer that you may give that shows your lack of acceptance, would you reconsider what you say if you knew that this person would consider/commit suicide because they felt that your love was conditional, or they would pack their bags and leave your life forever? I'm not asking would you change your moral views, I am asking: Are you capable of unconditional love?, without any quotes/preaching from the bible, or would your friends/congregation's opinions/pressure wear you down? I know for a lot of you this is a hypothetical question but please take a moment to think about it.......One day it could be a reality....

You're answers above all lead to the ''Its not my fault'' card, I know if my child killed them self because of my non acceptance of him/her , then yes I know I would live the rest of my life with regret and anger, to belittle you're child for their acts of love towards another person, regardless of the sexuality involved, sounds extremely confusing and contradicting to me. Quite frankly I don't and probably never will understand how anyone can hold another person (God) above their own children or their happiness.

We are all Gods children and it should not be up to us to judge them

My youngest brother who is the kindest most wonderful man attempt to commit suicide at the age of 14 because going to a devote religious school he felt it was the only way out.

I am so glad he didn't succeed he is a major part of our family and his niece and nephews adore him for who he is.

People forget that the greatest sin of all is prejudice that's why Gods creates us all in different shapes and size.

My children know that I will love them always, no matter what. My moral views are that we accept each other unconditionally, or at least try to. That extends to everyone, not just family and friends

In my opinion there is nobody more deluded than a Christian, with there self righteous bigotry, they remind me of a bull in a china shop, stomping on peoples feelings whilst spouting about their (non-existent) compassion. I wish I had the power to take the blinkers from their eyes, not for their benefit, but for the benefit of humanity.

Most people don't have unconditional love. When love is conditional it gives you a better chance of spreading more of your DNA out in the gene pool.

As for me, I don't think I have any love, let alone unconditional. Hell my words are conditional. LOL

Unconditional love does not mean saying whatever a person does is okay. Regardless of what my loved one's reaction is to me, I cannot approve of what they are doing as a homosexual. The Bible doesn't , and neither will I. I would always love them, but if they play the suicide card, or the "I'm leaving" card, then that's on them, not me.

no preaching, I am what I am, and I would give my opinion if asked, and while I would be concerned about someones potential suicidal state, that is not my responsibility. If you can't stand up for yourself, then you are doubtful of your own position or point of view.

If I love them I MUST tell them that I know that their lifestyle will take them to Hell. This is not homophobia. I can / do love them and do not fear them nor do I hate them.

Hate says "Live the life you wish and at the end go to hell". You are doing this if you say nothing.

What is so bad about praying for them?
