Just ask her if she fancies going out to see a movie or to eat but no where to formal and ask her if she fancies going along with you and tell her that it will only be you two. Then if you don't get any good vibes you can just say that you went out as friends. Then their is no problem if she says no. If you don't know her that well get her number and text her this shows an effort. Say hey hope you are having a nice day fancy grabbing a bite to eat or whatever.

by taking her out for an evening, dropping her home and just giving her 1 soft kiss before you leave (but remember leave, don't expect anything else. that will leave her wanting more and she will know that you don't just want to sleep with her
