I would suggest that it is probably a mold or fungus. If you have any damp walls or spend a lot of time in a downstairs game room, it is most likely.. The mold or allergen would produce the symptoms and while there are many drugs OTC that will help, I suggest you determine the cause....a mild solution of bleach sprayed on damp walls will kill the mold. If, however your house is dry, then check your air conditioner and change filters. While seasons produce various pollens, dust and spores...look first at the house or apartment....remember Legionaire's disease came from faulty air conditioning. As a physician, I suggest warm salt water gargles to help with the sore throats (you can buy Cepacol, etc but salt water does well), an antihistamine such as Chlor-trimeton (get 4 mg tablets...not the extended 12 hour capsules) and follow directions on the package...for me, I have to virtually overdose to get relief....do not use Benadryl as it will make you very sleepy and aspirin or other analagesics will reduce fevers...but look for the cause.

This may or may not help: My daughter, lives on a large farm, was going through this. She's a surgical nurse, I'm a former LabMed Tech.
We had never stayed at her place as yet. She was complaining that her two girls and her were always having sore throats, coughs, dryness, not at all well.
We stayed there several times. I have asthma. I had a serious attack there and had to go home, 710 miles, very disappointed. As soon as we left, I started getting better. This happen another time. She happen to be in her basement she never used, it's nothing but storage, She called right away. It was full of black mold, all over the old walls and, wet, orange mold also wet. She said she couldn't breathe down there.
She got together with friends and had a cleaning party, masks, bleach, hot water and soap. Scrubbed and washed all day. Dehumidifiers, fans, Lysol, etc. they're sore throats stopped, dryness stopped, etc stopped.
Take a lesson from this, might work.

You highly underestimate these felines. I understand your want to care for them, especially the baby. But, keep in mind these are cats likely born and raised in a feral colony. I'm sure the momma cat has braved a winter or two before. Just because they don't get your food doesn't mean they aren't eating. I'm willing to bet 3 other people in your complex throw scraps out. Also - cats hunt. Winter doesn't mean hunting ends. There are still millions of mice and rats, especially around apartments. Birds, too. They're probably eating anything in the dumpsters, and they probably walk around for a couple of miles to visit houses too. Feral cats are extremely smart when it comes to food. I've watched over a colony of 17 feral cats before, only feeding them scraps when we had some and they went through 2 winters without losing much weight at all. However, if you still feel compelled to feed them, I would suggest you find a secluded spot in the complex. An allyway, behind a dumpster, behind a bush... somewhere a little out of sight and drop the food off there. Last year I put all of my thanksgiving leftovers out by the apartment dumpster to feed all the cats. Or, you can call animal control and have them taken to your local shelter.

There are a lot of environmental factors that could be causing the symptoms you are describing (mold, allergies, etc), but with a fever I'd suspect its a virus of some sort.
In any case, one thing you may want to try is an immune boosting supplement. My family takes Immune Alert and thinks its great! It's active ingredient, beta glucan, has been scientifically shown to boost your immune system to keep you healthy from a variety of germs, etc. They make formulas for adults and children.
Go to www.immunealert.com and ask for a free sample.

Most likely it's the change of season.. Pollen in the air can cause allergies and allergies can affect your immune system making it easier or you more susceptible to getting sick.
Wash your hands often and keep your hands away from your face to reduce the chances of getting sick.. Take your vitamins..
It is possible that the place you live could have mold in it which could also make you sick.. But this time of year it's more likely allergies..

More people I talk to are sick much longer this year. But the fevers don't usually last....just the runny nose & coughing. Doesn't seem like anything around your home could cause fevers...unless it's from some kind of animal. Sometimes mold is a problem also. I wish you well.

Could be allergies, and right now is when the colds start happening. I would be willing to bet is is allergies right now though - all the things blooming and the wind blowing it everywhere. It's probably not your home, since you've been in your home for a few months and outside is what's done the changing in the last couple of weeks.
