Your in an accident and blinded. The doctors give you a poor prognosis of your sight returning. You get super depressed over the loss of your eyesight. A fellow blind patient helps you thru it. becomes your best friend. Is there when your so called friends stop coming to see you. After six months of dating your hopelessly in love. you ask them to marry you. They say yes.
You marry and suddenly your eyesight returns. And you find that the person you fell in love with is hideous, dog ugly, makes two month on corpse that's been sitting in the sun for two weeks before being eaten by insects look attractive. I'm talking mutant ugly. I mean children scream at the sight of them ugly. What do you do?
Do you accept them and stay married? or Pack your things and leave. Be honest there really isn't a wrong or right answer here. Its a personal choice. I just want to see how many see it one way to another.

Some of you want to know where I got this question from. Actually my gf was reading a romance novel with this plot. We laughed over the plot but its always been a favorite conversation starting question.

OMG! i would feel so bad. I like to think that I'm not a shallow girl. I would definately look into plastic surgery. Call extreme mega super ultra emergency makeover! Get Nip and Tuck and Dr. 91210 stat!
If that fails I would see if I could get them to divource me. I would make it look like I'm cheating. Late nights at work, cologne on my blouse, call the land line with my cell phone pretend to talk for 30 minutes or more then say it was a wrong number when he ask who called.
The blind have hyper senses. I might take it up a level and stop bathing. Get my funk on. That might drive them away. In the end I would have to leave. I know they will curse me and I'll feel terrible but I just can't see myself married and not being attracted to him.

My personal advice, and the honest to bob truth, is stay with that person. Why does everyone care about the way people look? What does the way someone is on the outside have on what they have on the inside? Don't be shady. This "blind" person helped you through your accident and was there for you. They was your best friend and then later the love of your life. Ending the relationship just because their looks are not up to par would be dirty. That would be so sad. And just curious, but what triggered this question?

No, but they can fall in love at first meeting... I know of a blind man who lost his sight at age 30 and has only seen one of his children, the others were all born after he went blind. What he doesn't know is that his 2nd wife is as beautiful outside as her inner beauty. And I have this feeling it was love from the first time they met.

I think... R u serious? You fell in love with a person..their soul..not the shell of their outside body. If you love them, how they look will not bother you so much. You may be shocked initially, but you should begin to see THEM and see past their looks.
So if you're really in love (not just in lust) then you stay because ultimately LOVE is a choice not a feeling. It's a commitment to unconditional acceptance and faithfulness. If looks can drive you away.. it's not love and never was.
Some people are so shallow... it's ridiculous!

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. There is a saying; "You do not love a woman because she is beautiful, she is beautiful, because you love her" And seeing some of these butt ugly 280lb plus rhinos with b/f and babies, I would guess that is so. After all, pretty is in the eye of the beholder but beauty come from the soul. Si after already having a relationship with a woman like that. Knowing she is always there for me. There is only one solution; plastic surgery. Save every dime, hock all the stocks. Just get it done. Then avoid children or hops they have my genes and not hers. But to say I'd be more happy with some cute blonde, or beautiful brunette that is as dumb as standing dish water and have the personality of 3 b*****s, would not be a step up.

Oh my goodness ! Its really a tough choice but Whatever u think of me, this is an honest answer because I am answering it straightaway without giving it a 2nd thought. I would still stay by this side maybe out of obligation or whatever indebtedness. As he is blind, you may turn elsewhere for other pleasure (no one can forsee) later on. In the meantime, just close your eyes like before while, you know ..................

I'd probably get a divorce if they were that hideous looking. I know looks aren't that important, but if they are so ugly that they put mutant corpses to shame, there's no way on this Earth that I'd be kissing them!

honestly i would stay with that person, wat if along with my sight my beauty is also gone and he avoids me, my god cant think of it how it hurts, beauty is nothing, it can be destroyed anytime but all i need is heart, a very smart guy has no pure heart, he will flirt with all the girls around and justify that he is right, and when no one was there he was the peson around with me, how can i have the heart to hate him. mean of love is not mere beauty. love is something beyond it, why only beautyful men and women should get into love and marriage or wat....

i would feel a little bad, but i would get a divorce. hell, my sight is back, i don`t want to loose it again from staring at a corpse-mutated-dog-rotting ugly person.
