Humans have 24 ribs- 12 on each side of their bodies. For a good diagram and explanation, go to this website: http://www.shockfamily.net/skeleton/RIBS.HTML
By the way, "shockfamily" is used not because this website is shocking, but because that is the family's last name!

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. Most
humans have 12 pairs of ribs for a total of 24 individual ribs (though
some people have been known to have only 23 ribs or in relatively rare
cases 25 or 26). Normally, our ribs are numbered in pairs, 1-12.

No difference between genders...there are twelve páirs of ribs in each side of a normal human being....
Girls have the same amount because the Bible said that about the Adams rib in a metaphorical manner...
so 12 ribs each side ....thats it....

normally 12 pairs,gender is not a considerations
however in some ethnicities like the japanese an extra pair may be present,i.e. 13 pairs the last pair are also floating like the 11 and 12th pairs(not attached to the sternum up front),called the 'gorilla' ribs.

They have the same. Count it yourself. That is the best proof.
Counting and verifying is believing.
